It's a bit of a tough one for Joe. I don't think he would have been in too many situations like this before, so would have been navigating blindly to some extent. One hopes he at least spoke with someone who got through their OP.Interesting from BJ. Had a few things to say to Joe on the field at times as well.

On the other side, if it looks like poaching and sounds like poaching... at some point it seems like he may have been instructed on how to respond to the media about all of this. Sydney and Tom Harley deserve heat.

It's difficult to call that stuff out when mental health is in the conversation, but everything I've heard is consistent with what Goddard said.BJ goes bang (sort of)

Difficult to call what out? I'm all about taking care of your (& others) mental health but I don't think that saying he didn't commit to his rehab as much as he could've/should've has much of a link back to his mental health. Perhaps if he was struggling personally off the field, he could have lacked the ability to give rehab his all but that'd just be speculating. Certainly wouldn't say BJ has gone too hard here or said anything out of line. It's difficult to call that stuff out when mental health is in the conversation, but everything I've heard is consistent with what Goddard said.
Sounds as though Joe hasn't done himself any favours off the field.
I think sometimes it's easier to accept a false narrative. Where do they start? Assumptions.Daniher has mental health issues?
Where are people getting this from?
Judging based on article but that’s pretty poor from a leader at the club.BJ goes bang (sort of)

So does me fearing shitting myself after eating pork crackling which doesn’t agree with me... though I love it.He's allegedly sick of being in the Melbourne footy bubble and having trouble coping with the pressure of being the great hope of Essendon. If that's true then it qualifies as mental health related in my book.
Well ultimately I don’t know. Assuming stuff is the issue was my point. How do you know?
He's allegedly sick of being in the Melbourne footy bubble and having trouble coping with the pressure of being the great hope of Essendon. If that's true then it qualifies as mental health related in my book.
Because that's totally the same thing. So does me fearing s**tting myself after eating pork crackling which doesn’t agree with me... though I love it.
Being the spearhead of a big vic footy club is an every day stress which every human being has. Okey mete.Use the mental health excuse for real stuff not every day stresses (which every human being has) in my opinion.
Well some of us are.Think we're getting Mental Health and Mental Illness mixed up.
YeahThink we're getting Mental Health and Mental Illness mixed up.
Oh please. That a player has 'mental health issues' is becoming a catch all. A minimum of 50% of the population would like to live somewhere else if you asked them, would prefer to exist without any of the day to day pressures; providing for your family, raising children, managing a mortgage and bills, planning for retirement, caring for sick or elderly family members, meeting work expectations, etc, etc, etc. And none of them would be 'earning' $900k a year! Suggest you broaden your library. He's allegedly sick of being in the Melbourne footy bubble and having trouble coping with the pressure of being the great hope of Essendon. Apparently Will Snelling Is feeling the same type of pressure. He's allegedly sick of being in the Melbourne footy bubble and having trouble coping with the pressure of being the great hope of Essendon. If that's true then it qualifies as mental health related in my book.
Yeah just to be clear I'm not suggesting we willingly bend over.Yeah
If the Melbourne environment isn't his bag, i get why you'd leave.
Sydney over Melbourne puzzles me, but i hate Sydney. So....
That said, we get nothing out of being the nice guy club
Happy for him to pursue happiness elsewhere. But i want 5 & 9 for him.
