Getting closer to having Papley done, suspect it will be finalized tomorrow or Friday at the latest.

That's better. Sanity prevails.

I'm not even as excited for the players we have coming in as for being nervous that we may yet somehow have to let next years first slide.
Just worried about Gold Coast wanting to now be seen to be 'tough' given they've been adorned with freebies from the AFL.
They don't even need picks any more and a second rounder is nothing to them.

Not ideal we haven't addressed our most pressing needs. Yes we need small crumbing type players however we have too many flankers now and urgently needed to provide some assistance to Cripps. Lets hope we don't trade a future first for Martin. That would be a disaster.

Cripps doesn't need as much help as people are making out. We don't necessarily need to add one more inside player to share the load 50/50, we just need 2-4 players to increase their midfield capability/contribution by 5-10%

Papley comes in and spends a little bit of time at the stoppages.
Martin comes in and spends a little bit of time at the stoppages.
Setterfield gets a preseason and increases his midfield contribution.
Walsh gets another preseason and increases his midfield contribution.
Dow gets another preseason and increases his midfield contribution.
Fisher gets another preseason and increases his midfield contribution.
Cuningham gets another preseason and increases his midfield contribution.
Petrevski-Seton gets another preseason and increases his midfield contribution.
Silvagni gets another preseason and increases his midfield contribution.
Gibbons gets another preseason and increases his midfield contribution.
Stocker gets another preseason and increases his midfield contribution.
Kennedy gets another preseason and increases his midfield contribution.

That's a heap of players, not all of whom will be in the best 22 at the same time, but even half of them add significantly to our midfield rotations beyond what we had in 2019.

Hope you're right. Still if Cripps gets injured and with Murphy turning 33 next year the cupboard is looking thin. Just don't like the fact we may use our future first for Martin an uncontracted 25 year old flanker who isn't worth a first rounder.

I'm a little disappointed with us pulling out of the running for a gun midfielder. All the opposition clubs should put a heavy tag Crippa next year given that worked well this year. I can't see any other players taking the pressure of Cripps perhaps the club sees things differently (Setterfield/Kennedy perhaps?). He's going to be busted up, worn out and have a shortened career if the Clubs not careful.

Reckon the Supporter Surveillance Team have TCP on speed dial.

"Yep, it's started, they're going full Adelaide. Release the Papley update. I repeat, release the Papley update."

TBF I said we weren't going for the mystery player last night. Was too much risk of ending up with nothing if we went for it.

Rumour is the trade period is set to be extended to the start of the season and into the first two months of the season.

Which part of my statement was incorrect?

I said he was
1. positive about the list
2. found small wins among the bad games
3. didn’t join the Lynch mob when we had poor results

Say what you like about the rest of his contributions, he always backed our players which is what I pointed out.
Number 2 is what I have an issue with.

It's ok to find the small wins in beltings(most do it including myself). But when you can't acknowledge the negative stuff exists, and call anyone out who even mentions it as a lynch mob/negative poster/other condescending adjective then you look unreasonable and somewhat unstable.

Thanks for the info, tcp. Any idea on the Papley logistics? Straight trade or are we padlocked to *?

Also, are you certain your mystery man was the same as Arr0w's?

This is why I cannot understand why we would be chasing Martin. Get Papley and Butler for cheap as crumbing forwards and try to lure a really good midfielder to provide some assistance for Cripps.

SOS is willing to take Martin in the PSD. We won't give up next year's first
