Just had a look at the Crows board. Many still think GWS will deal with them to swap pick 4 for 6+. None are addressing the elephant in the room. Why wouldn’t GWS just bypass them and deal with Melbourne? Reality still hasn’t hit.

Don't think GWS will deal at all now - all they wanted was a pick ahead of where Tom Green will be nominated so they didn't have to use the pick...for that purpose, pick 6 should be enough - can then trade in change for essentially what will be another top draft pick...

Saints need to go back to the drawing board. No elite players. The 2012-2015 draftees haven't come on. Might just make finals by topping up before sliding back to their rightful place at the bottom of the ladder. Howard would be a good pick up but struggle to see why they would chase the rest.

They need to be, given the constant talent that leaves. They're trading out stars for top 10 picks constantly, drafting well and trading again once they request a trade for more top 10 picks. They've got a good cycle going right now. However if they miss on a few picks and have a couple bad years drafting that cycle stops and they'll drop very quickly imo.

They've done the opposite of the Suns who traded out top players and replaced them with no-one.

While possible I have serious doubts that they couldn't strike a deal with Port for Howard (who has played 45 games in 5 years) and Ryder (coming up 32) neither of whom were consistently in their best 22 this year and still land their other targets.

I would of thought

GWS will give pick 3 + next year first for pick 2.

So they get a player they want and match the Green bid afterwards.

If they reject I guess they would just grab noah anderson and gamble.

Not sure the live trading works like that. If GC make their bid on Green, I don't think they can all hit the pause button and try and work out a trade.

Agree that it's an unlikely turn of events, but geez it'd be interesting if it happened.

They've done it by offloading "elite" players knowing they had plenty coming through behind them.

Maybe in 4-5 years we'll be in a position to offload a Dow or Stocker every year to keep replenishing, but you can bet your arse there will be some unhappy fans if it happens.
