At Richmond, Martin'd have been a different player, and a far superior player to Ellis. We're banking on GC not having ruined him long term, and that he has the mental strength to overcome what bad habits he may have developed up there. And if my grandad was born with wheels he'd be a bike.
If they switched careers, Martin would be FA and we'd be calling him an 'overpaid Richmond hack' looking to cash in after winning 2 flags and Ellis would be the 'under achieving talent looking to rejuvenate his career' at the Blues I reckon.
Happy to take a punt on Lukas Webb in the rookie draft. Got talent, but had a wretched run of injury.
is the blond(e) thing gender specific cause a friend said he can't find a similar term for males...........
Interesting article in Fox AFL about Brad Crouch and his desire to get to Gold Coast. Article says that Crouch initially asked a price that GC declined, but then Crouch significantly lowered his price. This at about the time Papley deal was stalling. And as GC had already committed picks 1 and 2 to Rowell and Anderson, they were after another high pick. To me this would appear why GC uped the stakes in Martin trade. Won't say what I think of GC at this time, but if we do get Martin through PSD for no picks to GC I will be very happy...

Yup as a youngster Martin was an absolute gun, hopefully he rekindles his passion and recalibrate his talent because if he gets some inspiration at CFC to fulfill even just close to his potential we'll have a elite footballer and for zilch.
Shaun Burgoyne was good but not great before coming to Hawthorne...V happy to get Martin for free.
But how many elite juniors have middling AFL careers for seven years, then get traded and suddenly turn into superstars?
* Acknowledging that the last seven years at GC would have been hard for any kid to flourish....

When’s the draft and when will we get Martin? Thank you in advance.
Does anyone know how recent players that have departed from the GC form held up just prior to leaving there ??
I know Lynch, Ablett & Omeara were injured before leaving and Bennell had his issues.
But did other players form stagnate or drop away prior to leaving ??
Players like
Prestia, Dixon, Caddy, Saad, Hickey, Smith, Matera, May, Hall, Scrimshaw etc
More importantly how many of these types have either recaptured their best form or played better after departing the Suns.
Gee whiz it’s dragging onWednesday 27th and Thursday 28th November
On the Thursday.
According to some on this board, Prestia was a small, soft, stat padder @ GCS. [emoji2369]I’d say Prestia, Dixon, Caddy, Saad, Hickey, Smith and Scrimshaw have all played better footy at their current clubs compared to their suns stints.
I’d say all took a while to get going, most getting their body right and then fitting into a new system. Scrimshaw early days but coming off a low benchmark with his couple (?) of games up north.
May, Hall and Matera haven’t done much at their new clubs. I’m not particularly convinced by Hall or Matera as footballers but reckon after a shockingly disastrous 2019 we’ll see a big improvement from May.
Add that to Lynch, O’Meara and Ablett and that’s a pretty good strike rate of decent football post-Suns.

I stupidly fed a tiger troll on the main board and had a very uncharacteristic meltdown.
Is it just me or have Tigers supporters (certain ones, in particular) been excessively insufferable over the last two years?
