Just like to thank Aphrodite and the other Carlton mods who started the Bluemours NON Discussion Thread and who have kept it free of chat over the past few years.

It helps so much when you just don't have the time to read through this thread, cheers and great job.

A late first is fair, if he's the player we want.
Our second will be around the 30 mark in the draft.

If not....don't worry about the asking price and move on.

I dunno, they paid a future 2nd for him. He's going to turn 27 middle of next season. #26 and throw in Polson to help cover the loss. Dodo will no doubt ask for pick #7

EDIT: BTW I do think a late 1st is fair

Man, this is the first Free Agent we acquired, what a time to be alive.

So much for the naysayers saying that our second half would prevent players wanting to come to us.

Insiders - players and player agents - saw it for what it was. A bloody brutal year kinda ruined by a wet weather slog against North, a difficult 3-match run in a second hub in WA, a trip to Darwin and a return to yet another hub in QLD.

We are much closer to the team that we demonstrated ourselves as being in the first half of the year than what we were in the latter part of the season.

Not one to count chooks before they've hatched but good decision Zac.

Williams, Saad and another key mid would be amazing - something I feel we should be using #7 for. A small forward would be nice too but something we should only pursue if we have the resources and if the right player comes up.

I’ve seen calls for a KPD. It can wait another year. Not urgent as a need yet

Just compare our % to 2019 as well, tells you how competitive we were, in addition to being equal 3rd for qtrs won.

Few other notes: Mckay isn't going anywhere, might sign an extension over the off season. Simmo wasn't pushed either, had an open conversation with the coaches and list management team. Think he's mostly frustrated because he really wanted to get into coaching and that will be difficult with the soft cap cuts.

To add to this, the soft cap stuff is also a reason as to why eddie was given an extra year. He was always told that 2021 he will either have a list spot or coaching spot. Has been huge for our indigenous players and also a number of the younger players in the team.

Thanks TCP, that does suck for Simmo and I hope it does work out for him. I’m glad he was not pushed though. H getting an extension is warranted if it happens! I hope there are a couple of other big things cooking and bubbling away in the background.

Fun little stat I saw that backs up the competitiveness angle. Our biggest loss (31 points to Hawks) was the smallest in the league this year.

Our wins weren’t massive, but neither were our losses. Small improvements could result in a big jump for us

Which is why it should be understandable to supporters, for him to remain.
We should never promise one thing and deliver something else........again.
