Maybe they're targeting a head man for more of a personality fit rather than Xs and Os.

I've previously stated I think Voss could be a good mentor for Cripps, both being hard at it mids. Perhaps in that sense he can mentor more than tactically manipulate, then rely on the assistants to be tactical.

I don't have any inkling on his tactical nous fwiw, maybe he's tactically astute. It's just a thought.

The thing is, good assistants with tactical ability are the ones that become head coaches.
So if you want good assistants that cover Voss’s weaknesses then you gotta prepare for a revolving door of assistants who constantly get poached. If they don’t get poached, then that’s a sign that they’re not good.

If you want consistency in tactical ability, you want that to be part of your head coaches skill set, otherwise be ready to be inconsistent year on year depending on the assistants we have for a particular year.
