He was a pick 6 in the National draft- wether his recent form is this or that for this or that reason - is one thing - getting the very best deal for him leaving is the responsibility of the football department - it isnt the repsonsibility of the football department to signal 'good riddance' to any asset - it the responsibility opf the dept to get the most it can - and Carlton should define what most is - not WC.

Carlton is under NO compulsion to FINALISE anything- it is up to WC to FINALISE is my point ie makes us happy to lose a pick 6 with so much potential and upside etc ertc
Rookie mistake, I reckon.

Credit where credit's due. Luke Power has done well this year.

I’m becoming more optimistic at the thought of Vossy as coach, excited to see what he does
Same. I actually thought Kingsley was the best of the new crop so if its down to these two, I am comfortable the panel and Cook (especially this bloke) will pick the right bloke.

He's uncontracted.

If we don't deal, he heads to the draft, we burn relationships and we end up with nothing anyway. Welcome to the modern game.

Vossy as senior coach with McQualter, Scarlett, Nigel Lappin and Power as his assistants is a pretty good result
keep the faith, magic - gonna be a rocky season I reckon...........

Yeah, you'd think it's near certain Power will be elevated to assistant coach now.

I'd like someone like a Robert Harvey or Dean Solomon as well who albeit for a short period has been in the hot seat.

Just someone for Voss to bounce off of who understands the pressures.

The dream result for this role for me would be Choco Williams or Don Pyke. I trust Cook to put the best people around Vossy to succeed

The last two seasons I was very vocal in stating that Simon Goodwin was one of the worst senior coaches I'd seen. Then last off season they brought in Chocco Williams and Adam Yze, adding to Alan Richardson who was brought on board 12 months earlier.

Now look at the Dees. Playing some of the most complete footy since Geelong in their prime.

Obviously from the outside it's impossible to tell how much influence those three are having on the current group, but they are a completely different team to what they were a few years ago.

So whether it's Voss or Lyon or someone else, I'll be right behind them, BUT it is CRUCIAL that Sayers and Cook bring in the very best support and assistant coaches possible.

Luke Power looks like a great coach in the making. And talk of Scarlett and Lappin is encouraging. If we could poach one or more of Kingsley, Gia, Caracella or Yze as well then I'd say that I would be extremely confident in a change of in field fortune in the coming years.

If it ends up being Voss and a bunch of no names / unproven assistants, then I will be far less confident.

At the end of the day, no guarantees of success come with the appointment of any new coach. So I have to believe that the panel members have a vested interest in getting the best possible outcome based on their collective judgement and unique insights into each candidate.

It's reassuring that the club's process for a coach seems more comprehensive than ever before. And let's not pretend the average punter has any better insights than the panel members into any of the candidates or who's the best fit for the club. So I'll trust and get behind whoever we appoint.

.... except for Chris Scott! Can't stand him. :)
