Richmonds interest in Paddy Dow was shut down this week, his contracted and fully committed to the Blues. Excited at the prospect of playing under Vossy - The Herald Sun

Pretty much guaranteed of getting an AA with pick 6…..😳

Yeah - check out the link.

Very few duds around that mark mate - I said "or thereabouts".

Harry McKay pick 10.

You have said 1-2% Chance - that is absolutely absurd - completely ridiculous maths.

Go through the list of top ten draft picks over the past ten years - its more than a 1-2% chance - its a really is a ridiculous proposition.

Pick 10-20 you would probably still have a 20% chance.

While outside of that yeah ok.

If the draft was 720 players and you had 1 pick your chances would be 5% - of a player all Australian or similar.

Jacob Weitering and Liam Jones didn't make the team - I think BOTH are All Australian quality - there are at least 2 or 3 players for each spot.

So 40 players AA - roughly capable.

I don't watch 360 often at all but tuned in for Voss. Very disappointed by the quality of the questions. I appreciate there are things that will be repeated across these types of interviews but pretty much all their questions (and Voss' answers) were the same or very similar to those in the official press conference. I was hoping for some original thinking

Not sure what others think but I really don't like current players being on these shows and interviewing other coaches/players from other clubs. I saw that Jack Riewoldt was on the panel to interview Voss. Maybe I am too old school like that but it feels disrespectful or at least arrogant to me.

I didn't like Leppitsch making comments about Carlton either on radio, now that he is a coach at Collingwood. Again, old school but it's just my preference that people working within clubs should stick to worrying about their own club and shouldn't make public comments on others. Especially at this time, where our club has been slagged off non stop for months.

My goodness, pick 6 has a horrible history…. Trade it ASAP!!

Pretty much guaranteed of getting an All Australian with pick six - or thereabouts. Unless your Carlton, SPS, Marchbank, Yarran (6). Then yeah.

AFL drafting is no longer a crap shoot like it was for the blues all the way up till only a few years ago.

Wasn't Cerra 5 ?

Hasn't set the world on fire.
Absolute rubbish.

Giving up Cerra for #6 is playing the odds. Easily, every day of the week.

If you put the question to him Lepper would answer a question on the Theory of Relativity, regardless of how little he knows - it would take him an hour and then at the end he would conclude with a profound 'yeah'

It's understandable they would ask similar questions...not many people outside carlton fans would have watched the initial press conference.
That's true but the SEN interview posed original questions. I was hoping 360 would follow a similar path

Out of interest just did the math. Between 2000-2014 (15 years) 150 players were taken in the draft top 10 of which 39 have made the all Australian team (26%). The hit rate is higher for top 5 picks with 27 of 75 players (36%) taken in that period making the team. Comparatively only 16% of players taken taken 6-10 have been all australian. I stopped counting after 2014 as more recently drafted players are still coming into their prime.

Fantastic post, very well put - thanks for dropping by
poster's getting more likes than his mcgovern can eat a dick thread..........

Some people refuse to deviate from the train of thought that every player needs to be a star and/or the best at their position in the league, or else they're useless.
exhibit a - mr george hewett........

Think AR is going to have to let the boys find the weights room finally if we are to go down Vossy path -- I have always felt we are to light and players haven't seemed to physically progress like there peers ..
Pleasantly surprised with way Voss presenting himself -- I was one who wasn't wanting him even though I admired him as player as he lead through action and determination able to judge momentum shifts and impose himself to change the outcome -- I just didn't know if he could inspire a group as a coach due to his past experience -- To be humbled like he was and go back to bottom and work his way back shows true grit and a self confidence few have ..onwards on upwards ..
Had a weird flash about Voss whilst out driv galloping. Something about him. Think this is gonna go really well.

Listening to talk of Cerra Pie on SEN, is it possible that a good midfielder wouldn't want to be overshadowed
by a once in generation player such as Walshy?
Or is that unlikely?
I would have thought that would motivate you even more to come, you will play the same position as you would elsewhere, but without the pressure and attention from the opposition. Look at the Brisbane Premiership teams & the WCE Judd/Cousins/Kerr. Each one could have dropped out to be the man elsewhere, but each probably had a bigger & higher achieving career because they where surrounded by such great players in the midfield.

Suppose it depends a lot on the individuals motivation, do you want to be successful or do you want to be the big dog in an unsuccessful line up. Cerra is already behind Fyfe, Mundy & Brayshaw at Freo
