...and if the tennis is so good on the radio, why isn't it on in the afternoons? Ok, the night games are usually 'bigger', but there are still plenty of good matches on during the day

Hutchy and SEN kept promoting themselves as the official broadcaster. Yet don't cover all matches. There's a 1/4 final on right now of a grand slam, no commentary or coverage. Just "whos your favourite sportsperson". Who's to blame?

How good has the Australian Open (Grand Slam of the Asia-Pacific) been? The city is a buzz!! Even the Yarra is looking good this morning!
Great advertisement for the city, thousands of patrons visiting. So many cultures, races and colours. Hospitality must be loving this, generates so much for businesses.

Sam Edmond needs and musts be on all year round.

The AO has been an Anticlimactic pile of shite. Add in the pathetic virtue-signalling, then it's a real Petri dish.

What's that I see, on the advertising boards? Emirates? Yeah. F**k off, Craig Tiley.

It does feel odd to see blank flags next to the russian player names

I was listening to their commentary of the Renegades vs the Strikers match on Tuesday night and it was abysmal. Giving the score was an afterthought, you had no idea if the bowler was bowling over or around the wicket and the description of the play was lacking in detail.

I agree, wholeheartedly. Fantastic username, by the way!!

Not as bad as the Pom that's on with BT atm, what is our obsession with getting Pom commentators for Tennis when they're players have been sh it for decades

Because the Australian Open is an international event with international commentators who travel the circuit - Heaven help us for using the specialised expertise of people who closely follow the sport.

But internationals are not listening to SEN , i said the pom that was on last night .

I dont think a countrys players performance on the circuit is a prerequisite for commentary employment. But I do accept your point.

Also given Australia was colonised by GB, there's that link as slim as it is.

What’s your obsession bagging everyone? A good mate of mine told me today you’re a busted up old crappy bricklayer who has waaaaay too much to say.
There are actually some good people in the world, believe it or not, Pom commentators included.

Bedford is a bricky?

Robbie Koenig. And he’s South African with a pretty noticeable South African accent. Considered by most as the best tennis commentator in the world.

Good ear you have, though.

How bad is that by me , thanks for that , maybe he's got more of an international accent .
I think i'm just sick of hearing BP and he's a good bloke , just had enough

They have had Mark Woodforde on who's quite good . I will ignore that other campaigner

In elongated coverage you need more than one, even more than two, experts to cover the two weeks however. I don’t think despite our rich tennis history and culture there’s a plethora of experts here that could assist.

I didn’t know he’s South African either!

BP is on front and centre for two weeks out of 52. Surely that’s not too much of an imposition?
