That was appalling. Completely out coached. Williams needs a month in the 2s he's just not AFL ready right now. Why was Kennedy sub?? Been one of our better players.

People complaining about umps?? We got some howlers our way as well.

We don't know what our gameplan is right now. We got belted in the contest and inside 50s, they looked lost.

We aren't going to go nuts like last year and go on a massive winning streak, season is in serious trouble unless a miracle happens against the Dee's and Swans and right now I see 5+ goal losses against both of them.

Are you kidding. Weitering is all about himself. Has been his entire career. When he decides to come off his man he misses. That’s because he’s so focussed on the one thing. The guy can be so much better. He’s not a top 20 defender in the league because he plays himself.

He's trying to do too much.

It's not about himself.

It's about him having to shoulder so much of the defending that he will at times be undone by doing too much to cover for others.

I'd love for you to be right revenant but they should have won by a 3 or 4 goals tonight. A lot of what we do wrong has been common in our game for multiple years now.

That's why I say it's a strange loss. If you list all the things wrong (like leaking 44 points from stoppages tonight: poor tackle count; so much dumb play; injuries; etc), and yet we still only lose by 6, it says we're not too far away. And that's what is frustrating for me. I think we have the talent, but system and footy IQ needs to improve... but I don't think it's insurmountable...

We get it wrong a lot at the moment.

SO few examples of a Blue running shoulders out towards goal with open grass. Almost none, in fact. Everything is around the corner or up the chimney.

Funnily enough, Hewett and Cripps seem to be the ones who get out the “front” most often and they are not the guys we want doing it. Got to get run-by options and quick hands. The Owies to Cuningham score being a great example of how to get speed on the ball.

Kennedy is normally the one who gets out the front and although he lacks pace, he is a sublime kick. Would have been handy.

Would have been better than Hewett and Cerra tonight just quietly.

How can you continue to pick a player who offers zero and has offered zero in every game this year? You can’t pick a team full of players who don’t touch the ball and then wonder why you get smacked all over the ground.

I know Kemp has his deficiencies but my god, how did Voss think Young was a better option, every time he had the ball he looked lost and every time the ball hit the deck near him, he was petrified to go near it.

Again a lot of effort by players like Acres, Hewett and Newman but the three of them butchered so many balls today.

I’m having a right old whinge here and to top it off Curnow was lazy and lacked intent if the ball wasn’t in the perfect spot.

Our team defence real poor again.

The only positive is that I think we have played really poor against Coll, Adelaide and Geelong, yet we are in the game until the last minute.

Our forwards from limited chances won their battle (against Frampton, Markov etc I would have expected them to).

Our backs led by Weitering and Newman won their battle despite some dicey moments with Cowan, Williams and Cincotta.

Our mids probably lost it. Had a brilliant 10-15 mins to start the game but apart from that it was a bit too easy.

You need more midfield rotations in this day and age. Its been a thing for 15 years now. But we go with only the 4 mids in Walsh, Cripps, Hewett and Cerra. Yes a couple others can pinch hit in there but when have so many small forwards in the team and start a mid sub, and play the 2 ruck it really hurts. When Pitto is on fire or TDK is clunking them the 2 rucks looks great, but on the whole it depletes our run which is something that is already a weakness anyway.

No it doesn’t, but 2 weeks later n a row now we seem to have got a bad run from the umpires.

If the free is there it needs to be paid.

Only here to offer congrats for a cracking game. The umpiring and bad decision making were hot topics on our board too. Feels like we’re both in it again this year.

Looking forward to doing this all over again, hopefully in finals. Would be an epic Prelim
