Creative accounting
There is a provision where it doesn't need to be the exact same points, so far as the discrepancy is small. Because the value of draft picks are not sequential. Difference between pick 56 & 57 is 8 points, so you're either under paying or over paying by 4 points and so they let you under pay.

Would we look at Dodson if he's there at #56. Mirkov replacement? I know that we were looking at 4 only in the N.D. but apart from the small saving on the salary cap we can use the pick we would have taken in the rookie draft and still draft Lucas late.

I think we’d be best served with a genuine developing forward/ruck prospect…
