"Fed up with the garbage decision making of the Gold Coast Suns Football Club, in late 2025, a group of terminally online users of an online footy forum known as BigFooty banded together to outright buy out the club itself. After a few weeks of consulting with Gold Coast fans who also frequented the website, a handful of users came up with the idea of adopting a European Soccer style identity for the club. The basic design would stay the same throughout the years; the clubs logo in yellow, on a red field. Various subtle designs will be worked in to the red with lighter or darker shades of red, changing each season as voted on by BigFooty users at the end of the previous season. The first design chosen was heavily inspired by the guernsey the users generally agreed had been Gold Coast's best so far; their initial away guernsey, also known as the wave."
