MAKE it three …

Carlton will blood a third Club debutant on Thursday night, with Francis Evans to run out for the Blues against the Tigers.

With Lucas Camporeale and Nick Haynes also playing their first games for the Club, Evans will pull on the Navy Blue in front of 80,000 people at the MCG for the traditional clash.

Interesting that we have Walsh on the HF flank, given the rest of the positions/personnel look correct. Potential for Lord to be doing more grunt work and give Walsh a running role to ease him in?

Anyway, looking forward to seeing:
-transition from D50 to F50
-high pressure/intensity from HFs/SF’s
-stoppage dominance

Richmond's team has 2010 Gold Coast vibes. Kamdyn McIntosh is one of the three named midfielders and their next rotation is I guess Ross, then maybe Lalor and prayers.

Nice side. Interesting emergencies.
I honestly had to look to see who W. White was.
2 extra defenders with Weiters, Gov, Haynes, SOS and Cowan. Are we expecting that one might miss?

Are the 2s playing a practice match on punt rd earlier as has happened in others years ?

Cripps move forward if harry heads into the ruck?
Yeh might come to that. Personally not a massive fan of Cripps starting a centre bounce in the forward line. Find he is much more damaging when he pushes forward from the middle and can exploit his opponent in the air.

I'm assuming McIntosh is there to tag Cripps. Only thing I can think of.

Who is the Tiggers second ruck? Tom Brown? Lynch? Bauer? They don’t have a genuine second ruck either. I get the impression that Crippa has been training in the ruck, so why not use him if it’s against a non-recognised ruck?

Here's the thing with doc.

His last game was in the final last year six months after an ACL and he had 16 touches and a goal. Probably shouldn't have played but there were plenty who were worse.

His second last game probably shouldn't count as he did his knee. Kept playing after his ACL and was getting bagged on here about his kicking - after doing his ACL. To be fair nobody knew it at the time but can't remembering many coming on here to apologise later.

His third last game was on the wing in the prelim (after dislocating his shoulder the week before) with 19 touches.

His 4th last game was against the Dees on the qualifying semi. Came back on after dislocating his shoulder early and had 19 touches including an extremely pivotal one late.

His 5th last game was 18 months ago in the knock out semi against the Swans. Played head to head on Erroll all night in a contest where we couldn't afford to get blown away. Erroll had 23 and 2 goals and Doc had 21 and one goal and I thought that he did a great job and helped set us up.

Doc has been through the fire for our club and yet all we hear are snide remarks about missing targets and dump kicks. I reckon he deserves better.

Would just love his body to stand up to the rigours for the whole season. Maybe he has to be used a bit sparingly, but when the chips are down he'll come through.
I'd rather he have 10 touches but have them hit the target. It's been an ongoing issue for Doch that he misses easy targets too often.

Sure, he plays under duress and I have great respect for his grit and courage and determination. His leadership is also great.

Doesn't change the fact that he turns the ball over or puts teammates in difficult situations very regularly.
