Freo have a very wing friendly gameplan, see Jeremy Sharp last year…. Lashcroft and Lalor will be at half fwd with some mid rotations, NOD will take the 3rd mid spot while Young is out based on what the pre season reports have said

Only worry that we may have to pivot from Lashcroft if he cops the vest as I dunno if he gets ahead on field in the current Lions team, unless they make a Bailey the sub
Yeah, fair shout - and if you go with NOD then it's also easy to transition down to a rook if it doesn't work out. Freo also have an incredible early run. Fantasy is hard

95% sure Levi will be sub R1.

That’s what I’m thinking, he’s not gonna get a midfield spot ahead of Neale, Dunks, Clug or his bro, Fletcher and Berry have the wings sewn up, the forward line looks set, there’s just no room, which is a shame as he’s a talent

It’d look really bad for the Tigs however if they made the No 1 pick the sub so Lalor will start on field, won’t play full time mid but he’ll be on field and has rock solid JS

Not quite sure you can call a player in his 4th year a rookie. The only thing that has stopped him playing a lot more games is injuries.
Yeah I classify “rookies” as first year or a fringe second year player - sub risk, higher chance at floor scores etc.

NOD, Garcia, Knevitt are all in their own tier of pre breakout type players that also seem to have key roles in their side so are much less likely to drop a 50 on your head.

Think sort of a Jeremy Sharp type from last year. Technically a rookie but also not really.

Certainly hurts him that McKenna is in red hot form too. Just no easy spots available. A great problem to have. 100% plays but will need to dislodge someone to get full time mins.

All going well we start Lalor, he ticks along, Levi gets some sub games, drops some cash then gets his best 22 spots and averages 70-85 (which he will when he gets full time minutes, absolute jet who gets the ball in and out, kicks goals and tackles like a bull drawn to red).

Garcia v Knevitt is the one for me if both are in the midfield.

Ideal world I'd have Knevitt and NOD at M7 and M8 and Garcia F6, but making that happen $$ is very hard without robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Edit: **** I can afford it. Garcia F6 in place of Wicks and NOD-Knevitt-Lalor M6-8. Me likey!

Knevitt and Leake (or basement rook)

Vs

Lalor and Trainor?

Hoping greens out for another round so Leake holds. (Prior d6 regardless)

Concerns are I'm confident on knevitt, and Bruhn no ETA. But if Leake is extended bench and isn't named, can't turn around and get Trainor or Lalor as there locked.

Would not field Leake at all. Even with reduced players counting, need a better D6 than that. Trainor or Prior D6 is a minimum IMO.

Now that Lalor has been named I'm thinking about rolling with three mid rooks on field (Lalor, FOS, Ashcroft) and three on bench (Langford, Camporeale, Boxshall).

Don't know if I'm making a mistake by not taking NOD, but I also think that if he's playing as a winger he's only likely to average ~70, so the rooks would only need to score ~60 to be worth it. I think that Lashcroft, FOS and Lalor can knock that out of the park, and the others are about 50/50 IMO
Lalor seems a sub risk at a high price to me (based on interrupted lead up not only with the jaw). Plus decent forward time

I may be wrong but I’m not in love with the puck, certainly not turning my side inside out to fit him

Taking a calculated risk this year, only have 4 rookies and they're on the bench, Trainor, FOS, Camporeale and Archer Reid (R3) All the rest are mature players, Paton, NOD, Knevitt and Garcia on field, Reid, Wicks, Stone and Davidson filling out the bench.
