Not sure what anyone expected?

This season was done and dusted the second we failed to move Ken on. The players know it, the other coaches know it, the fans know it. Just going through the motions so one loser can collect one more pay cheque. Up against a side that actually wants it what did we think was going to happen.

Come on guys we all know how this goes. We will come out and win next week, this game will go down as a blip on the season. We will string several wins together and make the finals, maybe win one for Kenny, declare mission accomplished only to embarrass ourselves on the national stage yet again the following week. I've been going to games all my life and have never left one early in 39 years. I sat through every game of the 2011-12 dark days that we're supposedly out of. Tonight I left a game early for the first time in my life at 3/4 time and it was bloody hard! I was brought up on Port Adelaide always turning up so I would too, even if we had a bad day. We were more Port Adelaide in 2011 & 2012 than what we are now. While I'm happy we turned things around financially, it means absolutely nothing now because the club is ****ed in every other way! We're no longer feared, we're no longer hated and we're no longer ruthless! We've become that friend in the group that is always around because we're harmless and everyone feels sorry for us. That's just not Port Adelaide!

I've tried to care less about this club over the last few years and have become numb to results. But after being at the F1 in the heat all day, watching that absolute shit show just tipped me over the edge. For some stupid reason I still feel terrible about leaving, like I've betrayed my upbringing. I'm sure I'm not the only person who's had a moment like this & it's incredibly sad absolutely nobody at the club cares. It doesn't matter who our next coach is unless we eliminate all of the incompetence above them. Sadly I just don't see it happening!
Don't feel bad about leaving early tonight - I did it too for just the second time in 53 years.

Like you and many others here, I've lived and breathed it for a lifetime, planned my activities around it, let it affect my health and wellbeing - in spite of the steady erosion of the PAFC's culture, values and standards and the degeneracy of the AFL into just another money-making enterprise designed for theatregoers.

You didn't betray your upbringing - the people who run the club and the people who run the game betrayed their upbringing and all the rest of us.

I had to watch the second half without the sound - PTSD from being at the MCG the last couple of times the Pies have thrashed us. Pies fans booing JHF is a true reflection of who they are - he has f all to do with their club.

Hoping we didn't break Lachie Jones tonight, he had a bad first half but he's a confidence player and he was no orphan with errors.

The good (there really wasn't much I'm reaching) Sweet won the ruck, Boak battled all night and laid more tackles than probably anyone else in the team. Jackson Mead while playing an awful first half managed to keep his head straight and improved in the final quarter. The reason I put that down as good is we are so mentally weak I'm just happy to see any sign of a player sticking fat for the duration.

The bad. SPP arriving late to every party and nearly getting himself reported, he couldn't get himself in the game. I'm going to give Findlayson the benefit of the doubt and say he doesn't help himself by looking so laconic but it was so hard to watch him drop his head again and again. Esava in Jeremy out.

Why doesn't Georgiardis cop it more on this board? I don't get it, is it because he can jump high and look pretty at the same time? He killed us again and again, when Darcy Moore is 10cms taller than you it's probably best to get in front or start freaking running to a space. I think he's feeling way to safe in the team without Dixon and Marshall in the picture. I know Ollie Lord has regressed but maybe he can give a bit of mongrel?

We were pretty insipid, lacked pressure, slow etc - all the things Collingwood were last week. We knew they were going to come out on fire so why didn't we bring the heat? If its not there next week we're in trouble.

Fantastic start to a season where I miss half the games overseas. Let's do it for Kenny! Absolute legend of our club.

Looking forward to jagging a flat track bully win against Richmond next week. Richmond aren't bad they'll say, they beat Carlton they'll say, keep the faith they'll say

I just realised we'll bottom out here, be told it's because we pushed Hinkley out, but simultaneously be locked into having Josh Carr for 13 years because next year we'll improve slightly and be told "remember 2025"

Direct quote from the CEO at the AGM - “the players can’t be told they’ve failed, because it would be too mentally demoralising for them”.

Meanwhile I watched a video of Lando Norris training and his team put him through tests as to see how far he can handle different stresses so that he can perform at best. Meanwhile at Port we will ignore the review of all the losses and be cuddled

We have a Coach working out his notice and that never works. If we had the money and a bit of backbone we would say goodbye to Ken and see if Josh Carr has it in him to change things. I am not looking forward to Dan Houston being the focus of media attention this week. Port sit bottom of the AFL ladder atm and we are likely to remain there until next week when we produce one of our flat track bully performances against an opponent who will not be lacking confidence.

Geez, how good are GWS? We don't play them until Round 13 and maybe things will turn around by then, maybe Koch will have a goodbye Ken moment by then? Too many maybes.

Can you imagine Damian Hardwick chatting and smiling with the opposing coach after a 91 point loss? No ****ing way.
Couldn’t imagine many doing that to be honest. Once it was clear this will be Ken’s final season they should have made the decision to move him on. In the unlikely event we beat you then he goes.

That would make sense but you've made the fatal mistake of assuming anyone at this club has any accountability.

If you beat us we'll drop Joe Berry for Rory Atkins. That'll be it

Shut up everyone reacting over one game. come back in five weeks you pathetic inbred.
lol yep 13 years a result more predictable than death and taxes we are definitely “wetting the bed”

And I will be back in 5 weeks to enjoy our season being almost over

Absolutely love the talk from Connor and Ken post game.

We were apparently very happy with what weve seen all preseason, and happy with what we saw against the Saints.

What the actual ****. It's training, it means zero, and the game against the Saints was terrible. Our skills and ball movement was exactly like what we saw today.

They dont have a critical bone in their bodies, too God damn happy with themselves and reluctant to tackle any negativity.

They all need a dose of harden the **** up.

They don’t just inhabit a bubble, it’s a completely different universe.

The need for a Clarkson, Hardwick or Kingsley to return and purge everything and start again has never been more obvious.

Unfortunately, that boat has sailed.

I know one player wouldn't have made a difference but I do agree with you in regards to Ollie Lord, not sure why he wasn't selected, it would have been another tall that Collingwood would have to nan up on. I hope he doesn't go the way of Butcher.

Unfortunately our club doesn't have the depth of other clubs because we keep selling our soul at the trade table and get bags of chips in return.

Every player I saw was smiling.. **** they couldn’t give a shit
I wish it was like back in the 80's when every single player had to return back to the club after the game and look the members in the eye.

They then would see how much we are hurting and have some accountability for their performances.

Hinkley is like a weed in the back yard, just when you think their gone, they just keep coming back.

Tell me what club would put up with this bullshit, our supporters have been called white noise, fickle, unappreciative and other colourful things, just because we want a change of coach.

The extended VFL is catered for the Vic clubs.

Boak needs to just retire. his skills by hand and foot have been diabolical the last 4 years and barely acceptable his entire career. Great he can run all day..go run marathons with Kane.

Wines is equally as inept with his skill level. He either plays in and under or not at all. We should have traded him 3 years ago when he had some currency and Carlton or Essendon would have been dumb enough to give us a first round pick.

Mead, Sinn, Jones have shown nothing at either level of the game to justify an AFL spot. Sinn I could give a pass to based on not having the body right but the signs aren’t good. Mead is in delist territory, Jones is too.

DBJ runs around flapping his arms pretending to put forward pressure on.

Rozee is a peripheral player, not a grunt midfielder. Shouldn’t have been made captain and has struggled for consistency ever since it happened.

The powers to be may not want to blow up this list but if Butters and Bergman decided they want out (highly likely) they may not have a choice.

Finlayson, DBJ, Mead, Jones, Boak, Sinn are all delist material.

At Port Adelaide you get rewarded for service alone, the ability to do your job doesn't matter, that goes for the players and the coaches as well as the idiots running the child care facility.

Good:
Boak - easily our best, and tried hard all game
Sweet - best ruck on the paddock
Rioli - serviceable. Best forward
Richards - ok. Didn't burn the ball.
Farrell - scratching the bottom of the barrel now. Good rebound and delivery. Crap defending though
JHF - tried hard. Had some impact. His ball use not up to his usual standard
DBJ - tried hard as usual
Drew - did good when tagging Naicos. Then got shifted elsewhere and looked lost.

Bad:
Flat
Lethargic
Not focussed
Deplorable skills
Rozee and Wines both got 34/35 disposals. Disposal almost always sold a team mate into trouble or went nowhere. Connor's possessions were in open play, under no body pressure, not a single hard ball get from our Skipper 😩😠 What a disaster to make him captain ☹️ How both got in the 'Bests' is bewildering, but shows scribes just look at numbers, not effect or impact.
Some worst ever games last night by Jones, MG, Luko, SPP, Evans, Mead, et al.
Ordinary (at best) efforts by the remainder!

What a complete **** show.

I thought we'd get beaten and comfortably, but i was hopeful of a better showing. For the result and performance to be far worse than any expectation is the key. Last night was beyond bad. It's highlighted our problems are not just short term but long term. From a list management and game style point of view we could be many years away from contending in any form.

You did well then to survive the Geelong final, just 3 games back. I left at the start of the 4th for that. Had never left early before.
