Can anyone else believe we are already at round 6?

It's been a tough initiation for Mini, with our new era looks suspiciously like the one we're trying to leave behind. We've lost all our games by an average of 56 points (thank the honorable loss to Brisbane for flattering us), and I think we all know where the issues rest with this side.

I had high hopes for this match preview, but honestly I couldn't give a single **** about Essendon. They're irrelevant, we're irrelevant, their coach is a giant knob and their captain is a wank.

But if you must know something about the game, it's 4.10 on Friday, It's a home game if you're sick and like watching sick things, and It'll be a game of football that will have occurred post this time and date. Capisce?

I'd rather post Far Side Comics and quote them with funny tags about our club, so that's what I'm gonna do.

What I initially pencilled in as our first win a week before the season started, no more.

Expecting a mediocre Essendon 5-6 goal win

Still upbeat about our chances I see!

Stay positive lads reckon we will this friday

then the cynical side of me says its another game closer to the end of the season....so that's a positive I guess

As far as I remember we've played on Good Friday twice previously?

First time in 2019 against Port. Unfortunately I went to this game where it was cold, pissed down all night and at one stage it was 14-71 in the third QTR. Petch kicked five and we lost by 7 goals.

Second time in 2022, against Sydney. We didn't score in the first QTR and at half time it was 12-70. Lost by 63.

In keeping with tradition we shall get flogged early scoring about 2 goals by half time before evening out the second half to lose by 7-10 goals.

I am going to the game. The Eagles have never lost when I have attended a game at Optus. We have pushed Essendon in all of our recent clashes with them. I'm certain we lose but i think Essendon's midfield is probably the worst of all the teams we've played against this far. If Harley actually attends centre bounces, and Jack Graham can do anything to impact Merrett's performance. We could be in with a chance, if Waterman can kick straight

I am not going to the game. The Eagles have lost more games than they have won when I have not attended games at Optus. Essendon's midfield are going to have a field day with us. Even Nic Martin will look like an All-Australian player. If Harley actually attends centre bounces, and Jack Graham can do anything to impact Merrett's performance, this sentence may actually be finished. We are in with about as much chance as Jesus, which reminds me, I wonder what Josh Kennedy is up to on Friday.

Bonus - Kevin Sheedy to throw hot cross buns into the crowd post-game.

Yep remember that Sydney game at one point half way through the 2nd qtr it was 56-0 and I remember having grave fears were we actually going to score.
