What happened to last week's defensive game- Lyon went back to the attacking game and it didn't work, lost it in the first quarter like a few games this season- we have real problems in the midfield, and just too many not working hard enough off the ball. Hard to find consistent players, Byrnes not bad, but few and far between

We ****ed so much up that quarter it's not funny.
Basically just lack of skills and composure in the team, just bomb long when under pressure, rather than creating short leads and pick our way through the defence…

When we were 3 points down, Owens gets the free kick in the middle, rather than slowing it down, he kicks to a pack, ball gets rebounded and Carlton kicks the game winning goal.. really lacks any real mids that can win the first ball and contested ball consistently… We rely on pressure and numbers to win the ball.. they have Cripps, Hewett, Cerra.. De pinning killing Marshall.. night and day..

Macrae was a good get, but we really needed another experienced mid..

The last 10
Mins in particular was insipid
Like they didn’t want to bloody win the game
No dare would rather lose by 5 goals trying to win it than that crap

I think they were more scared of making the mistake.
We need to teach these boys to welcome the mistakes. You won't move forward otherwise.

Need to stop doing them.

There's other ways the club can honour Spud's legacy. But clearly there's something about the game and/or build up that produces this result year after year.
We won last years game.

Lacked courage to run into space when it counted late. Our ball carrier never seemed to have too many options. We had plenty of opportunities.
