We’re got the chance of being in the 8 in the next 2 weeks, SYD (SCG) GWS (MARV) before the bye…
If all the favourites win this weekend, we will be 8th at the end of the round as long as Geelong beat the Giants by at least 20

we needed to win

And we got the job done

I’m liking our wins. Theyve all been good wins.

This one was a bit scrappy at times but by in large there was some nice things on show…

Jack has come on big time…he’s got everything going well…marking, kicking, composure, read on play…and general footy smarts. He’s giving us excellent drive off half back.

I paid particular attention to our f50 entries…and I’m pretty excited that there is a clear shift away from long bombs - Jack Walsh white Eliza H and others all lowering eyes 👀

Our run and spread on a few occasions was super impressive. Quick handballs in congestion to running team mates 👌👌

Loving the smallish players …Binns was good (2 nice goals) white very energetic, lord doing some nice things , Motlop was better late in the game

I’m very happy with that win.

In the context of the season it was a genuine 8-point game. Losing would have put a fair gap between us and the pack, but having won we've jumped them and are in touch of the top eight.

I wouldn't call it winning ugly - it was winning tough. The players looked spent at the end of the game. They gave everything tonight. Hope they're walking away with some real belief in themselves as a group.

Geez, I've read some doozies over the past 8 hours, namely Saints were the better side on the night, and umpires won us the game
Oh boy, Saints did not win 1 quarter for the match. Bunch of delulu's Saints supportere
If people are saying that then it's a terrible take. Only tine they were on top was the last 10min of Q2, which just coincided to us being down to one on the bench. Not saying that we were on top all the other times. Rather the game was a genuine arm wrestle, and the result came down to moments where one team would break through.

Was a very important win. If we can get into the 8 this season it will be a great effort.

Silvagni is one of my favourite players as a permanent back

Really good contested mark, great user of the ball and really fights tooth and nail

Also Charlie was amazing before Ross really made the game a total disgrace to watch. Commentary were saying Wilkie had lost two 1v1’s in like 100 games and Charlie managed to win three against him in 35 minutes

That was a gutsy win with the number of injuries and how badly we got flogged last week.

Some good signs of modest progress wrt lowering eyes and choosing hit ups going forward instead of blazing.

Real takeaway for me was neither of those teams are making a meaningful dent in the comp this year. Our lack of outside speed and footskills remains an unfixable Achilles heel until significant list renovations can be made. NWM stood out to me life as by far the best mover/ball user on the ground in an otherwise pretty dour slog.

Having proper talls at either end was the key difference in the game I thought. Harry was good and finished his work and the game. I want an enquiry into why Curnow has been playing one handed for two seasons. We keep hearing knee, but that left shoulder looks like he can’t get his arm above his head.

Hope the banged up guys recover, there were a lot of sore, hobbling Blues out there!

He kicked two goals up until those injuries occurred before he was asked to go back in defence. Not sure your comment makes much sense.
Of course, he played well prior too. But after the injuries it was even more important that we had him. If it was not a tall like Young playing then they couldn’t have filled the hole like Young did. He was exactly who we needed last night.

Fell asleep in last Q 🤦‍♂️

Checked scores at ~2am

Just watched replay of last Q

Good win considering our bench was decimated

Hopefully McGovern is ok - that woulda hurt
I fell asleep in the 3rd quarter, ground staff had to wake me up and carried my bags to the train to help me get home……

Agree, that’s the way St Kilda make you play, you’re either up for the hard contested disciplined performance or you can turn up like Fremantle did the previous week against them…..

Reading through the pages after last night's win

It's nice to get an injection of Faith in the lads ... heart warming

It's so much more pleasant being a Carlton supporter after having a win ..

More wins please - i much prefer praising the lads than bagging them :thumbsu:

It's my birthday tomorrow and I shall celebrate by watching this :)
Happy Birthday! Mine is on Sunday and very rarely do we get a win the week of my(our 🥳) birthday. I’m going to enjoy it too. Go Blues 💙

Also, I may be alone here but I felt like TDK was really keen to kick a goal. He botched is set chit chance from the pocket but he was trying to get in the spots to kick one. I feel, or hope, he had a jumper tug ready to go.
