Presumably the big concern re Heath is on his abilty to cover the ground.

This isn’t like the 1990’s, where you can just plonk him at FF and he’ll hardly leave the F50 all day, and as Dicko kept saying on the boundary last week, all our forwards push way up the ground, to support the midfield and defence, then have to charge back when we get the ball, so there’s every chance Heath will be gassed by half or even quarter time, having to do that.

Keeler struggles to get through a game and track watchers over summer were saying he was the best runner of all our tall guys, while I’m pretty sure Heath is about the worst, so it doesn’t augur well for him and is presumably why we’ve been so reluctant to play him.

Game running is a lot different to running laps - in games Moose wills himself to contests. How does Max King go when he plays - he always looks cooked. At least you will get second and third efforts from Heath and he will be servicable in the ruck if he gets a chance.

Here's a cunning plan - perhaps Heath could just stand alongside one the many tall opposition defenders that always just sit back in our fwd line waiting for us to kick it to them.

He won't need to move an inch given our uncanny ability to kick it directly to them.

Its not as the likes of Stephen May, Mac Andrew etc spend the game streaming into the oppostitions fwd line banging in goal after goal.

Won’t be much supporter backlash when they delist a guy 99% of supporters have never heard of.
Backlash is probably not the right word, maybe supporter criticism is more apt, well that is for those that are emotionally invested in a player in Heaths position.

Sydney are a much better team with Gulden and Mills back in the squad. I haven't entirely ruled them out of playing finals this year. If we can beat them, I think that will end their hopes. Keen to ruin their faint hopes.

I understand the reluctance about his tank but on performance, I dont know how it can be justified keeping Keeler in while Heath continues to be one of Sandy's best every week.

Any reason we can’t run with both Heathy and Keeler up forward? Moose deserves a shot, and I personally don’t think sending Keeler back to play at Trevor Barker Beach Oval in the middle of winter getting the ball kicked along the ground to him by a bunch of top ups would help his development much.
I think he needs help as opposed to being punished for a stinker.
Round 1 last year we ran with King Membrey Sharman Owens Phillipou as talls/medium targets. Surely we could run with Keeler Heath Sharman Owens?

We need to play the kids, and let's also not play anyone with an injury cloud so let's give Stocker another week off to give LOC a game.

Butler looks slow and useless at the moment. So does Henry but at least he's young and (kinda) has an excuse.

Hill has been a liability for most of the season.

Keeler has shown flashes but can't get the footy at the moment, let's see if Heath has anything to offer.

Boxshall has earned a spot and we might as well pump games into Travaglia to see what he can do.

Out: Webster, Hill, Butler, Keeler
In: LOC, Travaglia, Boxshall, Heath

B: O'Connell, Wilkie, Tauru
HB: Nas, Caminiti, Sinclair
C: Wilson, Steele, Windhager
HF: Hall, Sharman, Wood
F: Higgins, Heath, Owens

Foll: Marshall, Macrae, Garcia
Int: Boxshall, Travaglia, Henry, Hastie
Sub: Clark

With Cordy & Howard gone? for next year.
Just persist with Caminiti & Keeler in the key-back positions.
And with Wilkie as the 3rd tall, don't need Tauru in the backline.

Play him forward, so he can really excite us Saints fans by taking speccies & kicking 6 behinds, just our luck? - just kidding?

Also, bring Heath in, to combine with Marshall in the ruck & forward line.
No room for  Boxshall, while Clark, Garcia, Macrae, Steele & Windhager fill his spot. And same for Dow.

In. Heath for Webster

I reckon Trav's tank isn't up to seniors level yet, but he shows promise, and Boxshall seems more ready to play seniors. Clark faded out last week after starting well, so maybe sub. Keeler is getting pushed aside too easy in contested situations, but ok when he gets some space, though with Sandy being a basket-case, not point in dropping him.

Because if Moose is no good like Keeler has been, we are playing 2 down instead of just 1.

My take on Heath is his papers have been stamped, however due to where our list rebuild is at, where our season is at, the coaches are duty bound to give Heath his debut to "tick the box" as part of thier overall due diligence to each player in their care.

If Heath has a blinder then it gives rise to reconsider, if he has a shocker, then supporter backlash is also mitigated by having at least given Heath an opportunity. If he plays OK-ish, then that also gives the coaches the luxury of giving him more opportunity and a greater look before seasons end.

How awesome would it be if he has a blinder, it would kind of be our equivalent of a finals win within the context of a club that enjoys the rarest of wins.
Where did you pluck that from , what a load of rubbish

Love to see Moose get a shot but can't really see it happening. I think they'll keep Keeler in, play Hill in the 22, Stocker in for Webster, and Wilson the sub.

OUT: Clark, Butler, Keeler, Webster, Owens
IN: Stocker, Byrnes, Heath, Schoenmaker, Boxshall

Would like to have Heath and Keeler in random, but Keeler can't stay in after his last game. Would like to see us try Byrnes in a Webster role, as he puts in the effort but doesn't have the polish for me. Owens needs a stint in the VFL, and Clark and Butler deserve to be dropped due to their dopey mishaps from last week. Henry lucky.

Tauru and Schoenmaker to play a half forward and a half back. Schoenmaker to slot goals from 60 out.

I only post when munted, you know that risky.

I think he can play so needs more games into him despite average form in the VFL.

I'm thinking about 2027 for selection purposes.
I agree the kid has amazing skills but he just doesn't get his hands on it enough and just looks disinterested most of the time
