We have picks 1, 2* (Allen comp), 14, 19, 32

Saints have pick 8 and no 2nd round pick.

I could see a deal trading Ryan and Windhager with some picks being swapped
Trading the future for the past. Weagles come away laughing on that trade

As much as I love Liam Ryan this potential for a trade screams Dan Hannebery.

The best time for us to have traded for him was two years ago.

Don't see why the Saints would be offering 4 years when they are years away from contending.

Classic St Kilda move. 4 years @ $700k per year? Surely not.

Everyone loves some Flyin' Ryan but he's 29 soon and not that good. He's a career 11 disposal goal a game player averaging 11 disposals and a goal a game. Has played some handy midfield cameos this year for us but it's not like he's in the bests most weeks.

Essendon own the Saints' second round pick so would need to find something to get a trade done.

why would you want to go to GWS when you can play with Owies
I can imagine Windhager and Durham will be called the bash brothers at the dons given their similar attack on the footy.

At least he hasn't had the injury problems that Hannebery had prior to arriving at St Kilda

I'm an accountant and I still can't make sense of how they have spare cash in the cap when TDK/Nasiah/Max King are taking up at a minimum $4.5m a year for the next two years. Giving Liam Ryan $700k per year isn't chump change.
Only been paying 85% of the cap the last four seasons , so we can effectively pay 120% the next four years

WCE should go full pitch for Jack Steele here - see if they can turn his head.

He's the guy to extract from the Saints.

I'm no expect but I'm pretty sure clubs have to at least spend 90%.
95%.

The reason why Port, St Kilda and Adelaide could offer huge money to Wanganeen-Milera is because for some strange reason, the salary cap jumped by $2m from 2024 to 2025. It's one of the reasons why Port took on Atkins' salary in the Lukosius trade, because Port is one of the few clubs that doesn't index their contracts to the CBA.

Some young players the eagles might be interested in, not gonna speculate how realistic any of them are
  • Boxshall - from WA and Eagles were going to draft him if the Saints didnt trade up to take him
  • Wilson - mates with Harley
  • Collard - eagles NGA
  • Henry - from WA but probably nah
  • Barrat - played U18 with Harley and Jobe Shanahan at bendigo
Then theres Steele who may be on the way out

Saints dont have the right picks for Ryan right now, pending any other trades that might happen.

Any thoughts Saints fans?
Saints F2 should get it done 29 year old small foward with injury issue's
I can see him playing for the Saints for 2-3 years but not sure a 4 year deal is a great idea

Minimum spend is 95% but if you think about it more, if you simply forward a million contracts to reach that minimum spend year after year, they are potentially at a case where they are only spending 60% of the salary cap right now for 2026 season...... You can re forward a contracted players contract but no one strikes me as deserving of that besides say Callum Wilkie so question becomes what do you do with that 6 mill in free room

If you got say 6 mill free and no one to spend it on then what do you do? Id suggest they just go and spend it like they are now
