Could have another Stone situation, McKay out for the next month or so for the Blues, one of their cheap mids could be plays

A discounted Guerin could be relevant again and return to her scoring from last year, Goss, Fitzpatrick, It could benefit Mimi and Sherar FWIW (which could change my thinking of trading her)

maybe Goss or E.Fitzpatrick. Both are priced pretty high though.

Indeed

Although in Stone related news, Fleming is a test for this week so she may have to be moved to Bonnie for certain now, her midfield time will nosedive, so Mimi in my case may have to be a hold and hope that the Suns matchup will help the scoring, and then move Boyd on and upgrade Zippy to a discounted premo.

I'd love Guerin to play mid, but with her BE at 68, even if she is named there, I might wait and see.

loading up on West Coast, lol. Do they have a good run coming up for all positions?
Not really! Just happen to be the players I am getting more than a run thing.

Rowley looks to be a solid two week cash cow and I think her need given I missed Grieves. She should make, at worst, 200k and then I can take her down to make cash for luxuries.

Thomas is cheap and I really like her run for defenders. She has a kick-in monopoly and they play better teams now so there should be more of them.

Riggs is a toss up between her and Torpey. Picking her as she has the job security and is cheaper.

I had planned to do Harris to Strom this week but Boyd being out has slightly derailed my plans.

Options are: Stone to basement rookie (will look at debutants later this week), Boyd to Kearney, Fish to Hore
OR Stone to basement rookie, Harris to Strom, Boyd to def under $593k.

Thoughts??

I know Strom is probably the ruck everyone wants, but idk what defenders you'd be wanting to field that are under 593k. Might have a few more defenders worth fielding if you went a Wales or Edmonds type.

Could take a look at a Clara Fitzpatrick with the Carlton match ups and some share of the kick ins. Should make good cash and could be a chance of a passable score at d5. Then flip her to Serene/Heath next week.

I was just having a look at that - good shout.
Concerned her score was very inflated by GWS kicking inaccurately (4.9) and their forwards having almost no pressure when the Suns were coming out of defence (very easy kick outs and uncontested possessions). She seems like a 40-50 kind of defender.
That being said, great BE so easy to get up to someone next week even if she scores poorly and good POD is she scores well.

Obviously a risky pick, but I like the option to get Strom this week and get Harris off field (unless it looks like she will ruck).

I thought Holly Ifould (DEF) did well in her first game.
6 kicks, 6 handballs, 1 mark, 2 tackles in 58% game time (score 38) . Still relatively cheap at $329 with a B.E of 19.

I'll hold Boyd if Young is named as I'll run out of trades. Handy VC loop and a low B.E.
As mentioned before, Young is out for another week with concussion.

Listening to the Free Kick pod, they mentioned Bonnie might be worth waiting to trade in - with Bannister and Walker out for 2 weeks and the season, Toogood might end up playing deeper forward. I was going to bring her in for Clarke but now I'm thinking of postponing it.

Current team - I'm thinking the following assuming Garner doesn't come back:
1. Fish to Hore - Melbourne has good match ups coming up
2. Ott to Heath - fingers crossed she stays healthy, only had 65% TOG last week, but had 57% CBAs
3. Koenen to McLaughlin - not sure Koenen will go well against North this week, and last week against the Crows she had zero CBAs (56% Rd 2, otherwise 20% and 32% in Rd 1 and 3).

Others I wanted to trade out this week but I feel the above nets me more points:
  • Amber Clarke (her 21 is balls, but I can move her on to Young next week still)
  • O'Shea (not sure who to, I feel she is only going to go backwards from $750k, her BE is 58 so on par with her score last week)
  • Stone (only 55% TOG last week, plus with Fleming potentially back means she can potentially lose a bit of cash if the role changes)
  • Dunlop!

Do you have Stone on field? I feel like 2 upgrades is better than 1. I have the same dilemma with Boyd. There's no one around her price that I like. There's also no one under her price that I like. If I trade Boyd, I feel like it has to be for an upgrade to a keeper.

Boyd really buggers up all my long term plans.

Plan was for Ott -> Kearney. Now looking like I'll have to go Boyd -> Kearney this week, then Ott -> Boyd if she's back next week. 2 trades for one upgrade. Hate it so much, but there really is noone else around the pricepoint, or any great rookie cash cows. And Kearney is probably gunna jump to $1mil+, looks great and nearly got herself suspended with the aggro, I gotta have her.

My FWD line plan of Bogue as a 1 week cashcow last week -> Toogood this week is in complete shambles, Stone is a must trade out, which means holding Bogue for an iffy matchup (BE 41 so not life or death), and bringing in a Toogood who may not see the ball (though BE 33 and STK matchup is fine).

And that's not to mention that if Garner is named, Sheerin is iffy (BE 51).

Structure is good thanks to premo mids and Strom, but this feels like a make or break week.

She was on field but I have bogue at F6 so I can put her on field for a week or two.

I agree, 2 upgrades seems better than one. Would love to get Kearney at D5 and be able to leave my defence.

Although if Zippy can hold her price (good match up this week and would probs hold all my swans players for GWS) and Fitzpatrick/another cheap def can get me 50k-100k to move up to someone else, seems like the better long term play.
Strom scored 133 against West Coast last year and looks primed to do that again based on West Coast lack of established ruck. I didn't jump on initially because of her price, don't want to miss the boat.

Personally, I think worrying about Toogood because of anything Bannister or Walker are doing is jumping at shadows. Bonnie is Essendon's number one key forward - I don't think a couple of smaller players will affect her role. For our purposes, she's underpriced and has a good BE. Matchups seem fine for the next couple of weeks. Re-evaluate her before the North game.

There's also not a ton of good forward options unless you're sitting on a pile of cash. Stone can go down to Toogood and I imagine a lot of people will be doing exactly that trade (I'm considering it).

Probably the main news from the teams:
  1. Garner named on field, Sheerin on the bench! Spanner in the works heh...
  2. Fleming named on extended bench for the Hawks.
  3. Caris named on extended bench for the Saints (for those holding Ott still).
