Of course it was intentional.

Hinkley did not like to be challenged or threatened. He coached the entire time looking over his shoulder for fear of being let go, his loser mentality of being overlooked for so long for a head gig was never far away from every decision he made both on and off field.

Hinkley is legitimately all people at the club and some supporters know, so it's foreign to them that someone like Carr who actually has good working relationships can actually recruit people.

I wonder if the media will glorify Carr like they had with Ken whenever we brought someone from outside the club in.

I don't think there's any great mystery about it. These days we are one of the smallest couple of capital cities in the country, with a reputation for being boring, backwards and a big country town, albeit with some nice wine and a few festivals. Not all true, of course, but that's the perception.
