Sure, but the reason the WA clubs should be in solidarity here is that both clubs benefit from this concession. It's not like we're cannibalising each other. And if both ask, then it's way more likely to be successful.

More of the WA clubs working together to get the best deal for WA clubs would be a good thing.
But what about Collingwood, they have to travel as well!!!

Never though we would ever get to depths of a GC or Nth requiring assistance from the AFL but here we are.

Let's at least take FULL advantage and show them how to do it right and get back to contention as soon as we bloody well can.

To be honest I would actually like for them to take away the additional rookie spots inside the 3 years as that will mean we are well on our way to righting the ship.

Huh? This is better than North’s package? Didn’t they have to trade all their picks?
No. In their first package they got picks that had to be traded, in their second they got one pick with no restrictions and two futures that would be reviewed the next year. They chose to trade them as well.

Pretty good, not amazing but I'll take it. AFL reserves the right to take the extra rookie spots away after one year if they choose which isn't great. Hopefully that's only if/when we shoot up the ladder.

I hope that we don't need to ask for any more help next year. Bullshit that the extra rookie spots are conditional though. I hope they advise well ahead of time so we leave enough players uncontracted. How late will they tell us? It would be better if we knew how many players to cut by the end of the season.

3 years. Plenty of time to find the couple that will make it and bin the rest

It's further down the AFL article.
The extra rookie spots are for the next three seasons, but the provision could change if the Eagles make a sudden surge up the ladder.

"The AFL reserves the right to review or alter the provision of support in 2027 and 2028 should there be a material change to the circumstances under which they were provided," the AFL said in a statement.

Bulldust, Apart from Simmo and Nesbitt there were other people that were culpable for our fall and were never held accountable. If the West Coast board was elected by members they would all have been voted out after the 2022 season.
The ones still there should hang their heads in shame for the shit show we have now ended up being. They were too busy looking at balance sheets and marveling at how much money they have in the bank. It's an old boys club where the current incumbents promote their mates to replace them when their terms expire.
To the best of my knowledge Carlton, Essendon, NM, St Kilda boards are all member elected, how are they travelling... ??

So we've won the Draft Assistance Minor premiership, next stop the Trade Smith medal and then the 2025 AFL Draft Cup...everything's coming up West Coast!

It wont blow out to 30.

Mid 20s.

Players ranked around that pick include Rodreguez, Baker, Matt Leray, Onley and Nairn.

In the 30s we are looking at Curtin, Taj Murrey, Swaddling.

I wouldnt be packaging 3 picks to land a late top 10 pick.

If the leaks are correct and we are getting an end of 1st PP we should use it. And our 2nd. It a bonus if we arent forced to trade the pick as it devalues it.

Use players leaving and future picks to upgrade and the Hawks 2nd pick 33.
Don't be surprised if Swadling goes earlier.. a lot of clubs have been talking to him.

Glad we dont have to trade that end of 1st.

I think North get 3 end of firsts from memory and traded in spuds with them.
Nah, their firsts didn't have to be traded, but the 2 future firsts were subject to review, so they chose to trade them (and also traded the non future as well).

You want to know something funny though? The pick they took Whitlock with, that they traded Richmond their future first for, was initially their own assistance pick. They got it, assumed they would improve, so traded it out. Then they didn't improve, spent pick 2 on yet another midfielder, then again assumed they would improve and gave up what ended up being pick 3 to get their own assistance pick back. We're reaching "did it to themselves" levels that shouldn't even be possible.

I think it was 2 and they traded them for griffin logue and callum Coleman jones LOL.

Has there been a successful trade acquisition traded into norf in the last 10 years?
Nah those two were with their 2022 assistance package. Still trying to track down the full story of the 2023 one but at least part of it was Dylan Stephens.

I really don't understand the hub-ub about a one win team getting a pick that'll end up being in the mid to late 20's...which will most likely end up getting traded for Starcevich...like we're suddenly gonna go from one win to 15 wins the very next year over one single solitary draft pick in a pretty weak draft.

Collingwood,Brisbane and Geelong are also, how are they travelling ?
