That's what it looks like from the outside, probably Oliver was chosen as he doesn't even have any trade value. It was either Oliver or Petracca staying.

You are a fool if you think they lined them both up and said “I choose you”. Absolute shit take.

Oliver would be good get for you guys.

Knows Crows can’t get the deal done. Good man.
Or has a decision of two teams and would be unwise to not go and see the offer/plans of the other club that has interest in you. At least this way he is comfortable with the decision he ends up making and not "oh I should have met with them to see what could have been".

Funny that some 'ITKs' thought this was a done deal because of one meeting and his manager not flying home with him

It's not uncommon for a club to nudge a player towards the destination that will actually pay something they will consent to for the trade.

It happened with Melbourne reasonably recently. Adam Cerra was happy with Melbourne, Freo was happy with Melbourne, Freo said they'd like to include Jackson in the Cerra trade and Melbourne were no longer happy - so Cerra moved to Carlton because they put their first on the table.

I can see a similar situation here with Melbourne and Adelaide not quite meeting at a happy place, but Gold Coast throwing their whole wad on the table.

Now on his way to GC.

Spicing up now. Anyone on the GC can you confirm there are petitions to sign Trac up there too?

Just waiting for the pictures/video of Petracca walking through Gold Coast Airport either tonight or tomorrow. That'll really get tongues wagging.

Agree, the reason players usually get to nominated club is because it is 90% already worked out behind the scenes first as to if it actually fits.

Reading between the lines, he is keen on Adelaide due to ANB being there however knows they are unlikely to get a deal done. So is now testing out GC as plan B.

Will Crows completely fumble this one? Starting to look like it.

It didn't happen with Houston just last year who was also contracted.

How many examples do you need?

Melbourne have said they want players, Melbourne themselves have traded a young good player to acquire the player they want.

When Adelaide wanted 2 first round picks for Jake Lever and no one thought he was worth that and was going to be dragged out all trade week, Melbourne came the party and traded 2 first round picks in the first deal of trade week.

When you target someone, you need to satisfy the other club, not just the scraps you’ve got.
Well so far I've been given none.

Which good player for good player trades can you name in the last, I dunno lets say 5 years?

Incorrect. Melbourne wanted May and told Hogan we will trade you to Perth if you want (to get the picks to acquire May). Melbourne pushed the agenda.

Melbourne couldn’t get May unless Hogan wanted to leave. Melbourne had to wait on Hogan to say yes, trade me to Fremantle before Melbourne could get May

Melbourne traded Hogan to acquire May.
Melbourne made the best of the situation by turning Hogan into May. Hogan still wanted to explore a trade. Completely different to moving on a happy and settled player like Rachele.

I’m too busy to look up right now, off the top of my head Hogan and May.

Chris Judd for Josh Kennedy

Rubbish you are only guessing the only people who know whats going on is tracc and his manager AND going on what melbourne want him to do which means 2/5th of f@ck all

Yeah the first time he expressed interest to return home is after Melbourne dangled the carrot and pushed him.
