Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Not sure wtf we would give Charlie what he wants and trade him to Geelong
Why make them stronger… I despise them
We should just flat out refuse to deal with them
Sydney only
Or stay…..
Or Eagles and he can take if or leave it

They have the assets (Holmes, Dempsey, Neale, O’Sullivan, SDK, Miers, Humphries) but they don’t look like they’d be open to using them for a trade.
It's worth heading over to the Cats board if you wanna hear some doozies.

Their supposed ITK said he's heard a trade of Ollie Henry and pick 19 for Charlie. The same Ollie Henry who's fallen off the edge of a cliff, running around in the VFL, and stuck with his contract until the end of 2027. And apparently they want to keep their future 1st for the Marshall trade, so it's off the table.

Another one is Kolodjashnij, Bews and their 1st for Charlie. Or another saying that apparently Geelong has had enough of Stengle's off-field antics, so he's getting traded to Carlton for Charlie.

There's some absolute crackers, but strangely enough none involving the players you've listed.

Saint Kilda are crazy.

Sign TDK on huge money, and Jack Silvagni on more than he is worth, and subsequently lose Marshall and Steele.

For us pick 9 and 19 is a good result.
This imo was always SOS’s & co future strategy planning, bringing in as many FA targets they were interested in, one on exceedingly high wages others generously over their fair value as well as trade targets…

Knowing that the implications would cause favourite, loyal, long term players to be put into the position to seek other opportunities at other clubs for the better benefit of their playing careers, others told or made it clear that they are no longer required, and not in the current plans of moving forward…

Net result it gains further picks back to trade for players or draft picks, while clearing out further cap space in accommodating the large collection of players wooed to join the club…

I faintly remember the strut I had.
Back then, before socials, we never cared for bottom of the table teams.

Such a shame, 30 years later, here I am, on socials, reading all about st kilda. Having a dedicated thread laughing at *, whilst we’ve done sweet FA.

I wish so much that we can regain relevance, sustained success, give us some pride back.

Give the younger supporters something to be proud about.

I hate this timeline where rather than focusing on cups, what st kilda are doing is the main talking point.

Please Carlton, do better, be better, enough is enough.

That only works if st kilda receive picks at the correct value

Otherwise it’s a dangerous strategy as you may not be able to negotiate the right picks for the players you are losing

Anyway, would be fascinating to observe the impact on culture

Sure it contains some risks, but I’ve been of this opinion for a while, it’s a very well calculated strategy that has had some well thought out probabilities, at least the nucleus of what they were trying to achieve, once the main dominoes fall, then luck with other choices have fallen into place…

Agree let’s see how it all plays out or has any impact on culture…

But they’re not though are they. They’ll get a first for Marshall and IF Steele goes they’ll get something for him as well.
How do you attract free agents? Either be a good team or pay overs. I’m sure they’ll be hoping over paying now will allow them to attract talent later without having to pay silly amounts.
They won as many games as us this year yet the hype will be 1000 times higher for them next year, I envy that. Good on them.
But will they? Why pay full whack when they have to trade them out?

SDK and Griannn thanks

If SDK was fine with coming to us, he'd be a godsend for next year. Then when HOF and Dean are up to speed, we look at switching one of our key defenders forward. SDK would be the perfect upgrade on Lewis Young.

I'd take Miers or Stengle.

We need a future 1st though so might have to forego the second player.

SDK, Miers and a F1. Sign me up.

From Sydney, give me 10, F1 and Hayward. I'd take McDonald also and give them a future 2nd.

Really like the aggressive intent from GC, even Adelaide, Geelong and other teams who are actually going chips in for a flag tilt.

Same as the Pies at the end of last year.

It once again shows to me how badly we stuffed up, that after 2023 and 2024 we added stuff all and had no scope to do what other clubs seem to be able to
Which big name were you prepared to let go at the time, we had no spare cash 💰

Bro what????
Best Gif Wow GIF
Dusty put on 5 kilos as he developed after* being drafted, and another 5 kgs in the back end of his career when he shifted to being an outright brute at the stoppage and at full forward.

I thought this was well understood?

Humphrey weighs in at 188cm 100kgs.

Doesn't have the size?
LOL he's 185ish with average wingspan for his size, Petracca is a hair taller but longer arms and a bigger frame and better overall endurance in year 1 than Humphrey has in year 3. Plays at 92-95.

De Goey is 192 and the better part of 95 kg, Dusty was similar when he changed body shape later in his career but was covering more ground earlier in his career having come in as a junior known for his speed/endurance mix.

Humphrey is down about 8 kgs behind these these guys, and nowhere near as lean.

I dont think it does that. Sydney won't ramp up talks unless Charlie choses them. Geelong being in the hunt puts that on hold.

We can't send him to Sydney just because they're offering the best deal. Their offer is irrelevant unless Charlie chooses them.
This is true, and it is also true that if Carlton isn't offered what it wants in return for Charlie then he is not going anywhere.

Ultimately, any club courting him must meet Carlton's demands. Not the other way around.

I’m still hoping for if we were to trade Charlie to turn that into Bailey Humphrey coming in.

Losing SOS, TDK and potentially Charlie we need to bring someone in of significance to help Vossy going into 2026.

Humphrey has the talent and potential to be the best player in the game that’s how highly I regard him and I’d seriously offer him a contract of $10m for 8 years to convince him to come over.

If we were able to do a three way trade that brings us Humphrey, Hayward and a future first that would be great. Just hope we are aggressive and attacking our targets and it sounds like we really want Humphrey regardless of what happens with Charlie.

I’m also hoping Hickmott is still a possibility to add to our coaching group. I have a feeling if we do add a senior assistant of the calibre of a Hickmott, Skipworth or Kelly that GW has a long term vision if things don’t go well with Vossy next year he has his next senior coach in our senior assistant which I’m hoping is Adrian Hickmott.

You quite literally have no idea whether any of this is true or not. Making up numbers as if you have access to any of this data is just plain silly.

Humphrey said in a recent interview that those were his current dimensions, I'll back the source over your eye test from behind a TV.
