Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Gotta Say Brisbane must have an absolutely elite list management team. With Oscar Allen attracting first round compensation surely that values him at around $1 mill a year. I am aware they have lost Ah Chee and Starcevich but with that list it must be a very near run thing both now and into the future.

Trees will definitely be getting shaken around Bailey, the Ashcrofts and around the edges very soon.
Hate to have to be the one to break this to you but they probably also have an elite accounting team and are most likely cheating their little hearts out with the salary cap, as are a few others like Geelong, Collingwood, Sydney. We are one of the clubs rules apply too unfortunately, other clubs not so much. The history of this league is full of dynasties that cheated the cap.
It goes back to the 70's at least.
Imagine what is happening now, given the corruption of the league overall is endemic.
I don't think they'll lose much, not with Geelongs cheating being pretty much given the green light this week. Should be a free for all, or does anyone believe the AFL's fanciful concotion about Geelong this week, 'they we're cheating but they weren't'... absolutely laughable this league when you see through the lies.

FWIW, I was at a function on Sunday and a friend who has a family member involved with the Moe Lions and knows Bailey's family was adamant that Bailey is keen on Carlton and if GC were to move him on it would be to Carlton. All parties have spoken about it.

Firmly a rumour, I have no idea on how accurate this information may actually be as its 2nd hand.

I want to believe

Both those guys were out of contract
If Khamis didn't have a contract he'd be delisted, why are we helping the Bulldogs out again.. we already made one horrendous mistake signing a Bulldogs key defender to a long term deal, we also gave them a good player in Kennedy because of stupid decisions, who is the fool at the club that keeps doing them favours is what I want to know?

Pick 40 in this draft for a contracted Khamis is perfectly fine for us. As long as we still end up with enough points to get Dean, which we obviously will.

It's just whether Doggies accept that imo. Khamis is more than handy for both us and them.
Could we be giving them pick 40, and getting something like an F3 in return?

Not a fan?

I think that’s a bit harsh, mate. Pick 40 will end up being a lot worse. I’m not convinced he’d be let go if he were out of contract — it’s not like he hasn’t been playing at all over the last two years, and in the games I saw, he made a solid impact off the bench towards the end of the season.
To me, the Kennedy trade will end up being a win-win for both clubs in the long run.

The same Khamis that gave Charlie a bath earlier in the year when we played the Bulldogs?

I dunno mate. If we do, good. But i doubt it. 40 in this draft aint worth much apparently. I would comfortably prefer Khamis. As long as we have enough points for Dean and Ison by draft night. Which we obviously will.

Just whether Doggies let a contracted swingman go for that nothingish Pick 40. Maybe theyll return the goodwill of the Kennedy trade (38 in a much better draft).
