Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Stephenson can train.

If he can hang then yeah, consider for a SSP.

If he can't,nothing lost

Maybe he CAN train.

But he can't:
1. Play AFL quality football
2. Chase or apply pressure
3. Maintain AFL standards in fitness or behaviour
4. Hold a first 23 spot in one of the worst sides put on the field (early 2020s North Melbourne)

Also, I hate him.

We've offered a 2nd for Buku. Leek is a better player with a higher ceiling. I would give a 2nd for him without hesitation.

The real question is around contract given what StK were offering him.
Irrelevant what STK were offering. If he wants to move and keen to make a name for himself at a big club next to Weitering and - in future - Dean/HOF, we'd be a good option. He just won't become a near-millionaire here.

Disagree, there's room for other players to be sent out, it would just entirely rule us out of picking ahead of a Dean bid, so otherwise the aggregate change to our midfield and forward group would come from Jagga and absorbing some contracts for other teams.

And to be clear to those who will reflexively quote this post, I'm referring to acquiring later picks to pay for Dean, the TDK pick would be used in a Humphrey deal. The Walker moves can still be made mid-year and end-of-year in 2026 through the related exchange periods.

Theoretically, we can trade out a 2027 F1 for another 2026 first, but then they know we are desperate and that would see us with no leverage. Then as you said, we'd have to trade others out this year to cover a Dean bid. What currency do we have?

He’d be a DFA wouldn’t he?
Train-on & SSP listing.
Yep, free and nothing to lose. He was electric at Pies and Buckley shifted him back for some reason and he was a little lost and he made some stupid decisions (haven't we all).

Unlike our small forwards, he had IQ and he was a threat.

Now he may be no good now but let's find out.

Agree with this. Should be pursued but not at salary Saints offered
We were interested in him a couple of years ago. But he signed an extension with GWS. I hope we express interest in him again.

We need a few players people hate 😝

He has spoken about his experience at North and how demotivating that environment is.

Disagree, no risk at all for a guy that you'd hope has found his love for footy again.

Long time ago now, but did kick 38.24 in his first season. Take the low risk high reward gamble I say.
Totally agree. It's a smart move. And that suspended sentence hanging over his ehad should keep him on the straight and narrow.

2027 F1 won't exactly draw much interest given the Tassie incomings unless we're considered a strong bottom 6 chance, and clubs aren't going to entertain that bet until 2026 off-season, or at least when evaluating our list after the player exchange and initial DFA period this week.

We have players who could facilitate low key trades and pick swaps: Acres, McGovern, E.Hollands, Durdin, maybe Boyd, and to a lesser extent Binns and Pittonet.

Outside of that, I'd imagine clubs would be enquiring about Cerra given the Lord and Walsh situation, but the Flanders trade shows he would probably generate something a little later in the first round, and there's not a lot of Victorian clubs holding onto the relevant capital that would have interest.

I'm glad to see you live in a world where people can slowly make small changes in their lives to improve their health and who they are and move towards who they want to b- OOH A BIRD
