I dont think Benny gale would have had any input in list management decisions in all his time as Richmond CEO, although i suppose he hasn't the track record pyke does.
So really Eagles fans fury at any list management stuff ups should be directed at Don and not Matty?

Im sure one person doesnt run the entire show and sign the cheques at Richmond......or any club.

Clark last year stufffed up during an interview dealing with Baker and Richmond.

That was quickly addressed and the negotiation for Barrass was handled differently.

We learn and move on. Thats what happened last year. It wont happen again.

I think you'll find Blair Hartley runs a pretty tight ship at the tigers and is the person who has final say on all trade and list management decisions, not to say others dont have input but Blair is the main man.

I expect the deal will be done tomorrow now that Liam Ryan has moved.

You realise Chesser was injured for half the year much like Young?

Why do you bother participating when you got no clue?
I'm well aware.

Young came into the side once he was fit enough, as did Chesser.

Saying Chesser was a 1st round pick and Young was only a fringe player like it has any bearing on trade value is disingenuous.

Campbell chesser a first round pick looks like he goes for pick 41. Tyler young a fringe player is worth a lot less. Pick in the 50s

Doesn't sound fringe to me. Sounds like he's going to be part of your starting 23 according to Matt Clarke

We know you outbid Richmond on the contract, we know ex Richmond players at West Coast courted him to come to the club.

Doesn't sound like it's worth a fringe pick to anyone.

Not being a smart ass but can you find where it says that in any official capacity. Never read that before

There was an article on the AFL website a year or ago. I can't find it right now, but I hadn't heard it either until I was shown the article too. Its an interesting one, as the journos don't seem to know about it either, but it was there on the AFL website as a confirmed change. Will try and find it.

It means those later picks are worthless to Richmond in terms of Kellaway unless of course the AFL have scrubbed that part of the draft rules and hadn't broadcast it - nothing would surprise me with the AFL.

From the start of the "natural" third round (pick 37) you can now match for nothing.

AFL player movement and list management changes

A 10% discount will be applied on all bids from selection 1 to 18 followed by an 84-point deduction (being 10% of selection 18) for all bids from selection 19 to 36.
Matching a bid - first round: Matched using equivalent DVI points.
Matching a bid - after first-round:
Matched using equivalent DVI points up to selection 36.
Match with next selection from selection 37.

Agree it's odd, considering pick 37 still has 297 points attributed to it and points this year continue out to pick 54.

Makes me think that the intended plan is to restrict points values to just the first 36 picks next year.

Which would align with the rumours that next year picks used to match will need to be within 18 of where the bid falls.

Either way, F3 picks have no value at all now in terms of points.

Not having a crack at you in any way shape or form, but all of us should be very wary of what the AFL said a year ago, still being current.

I mean the useless turds are changing stuff mid trade period ,when ALL clubs have been planning trade strategies for months now.

On brand the AFL are again managing things on the fly.

Oh without a doubt, they may have changed the rules without telling anyone. I certainly wouldn't be surprised, it's around about the level of transparency the AFL enjoy.

All very interesting with this new revelation. Can see a third team getting involved similar to our deal with Bris and Freo given that we’ve not got any picks within 37 that we aren’t wanting to use for a trade up, and Richmond if I’m not mistaken still only have 3 and 4. If we can move our latest 2nd into a high third points wise then I’m content. Maybe north can get involved lol they love throwing away a F1
