Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Ainsworth will be essentially free, sounds like GC just want to shed his contract so they can make room for Petracca. Few years ago they sent Bowes to Geelong ALONG WITH Pick 7 for that very reason. That was a stupid deal, and they won't do that again, but I think we'll either get Ainsworth for something similar to Reidy (token late pick swaps of minimal value), or if they're desperate to get his contract moved we might get a late pick or pick upgrade ourselves.

I wasn’t aware they’re trying to get him off the books. I rate Ainsworth and if we get him on the cheap that’s good business.

So it's clear, publicly at least that, we want clubs to put their best offers forward. We're not going to be asking for anything in particular because that means you are a willing seller. Behind closed doors obviously they can say anything but that's another matter.

Don't think we've had someone like him and GW for quite a while. About time the club became ruthless and stopped getting shafted by other clubs and the AFL.

Pretty happy so far

Inside 50s sorted with some better kicks and runners. Wing depth and KP depth. Injury free Charlie and big off season with new strategy should see some levelling out/improvement.

Only Cody to fill the midfield in 2027 when Tassie takes the entire draft. Is pretty handy for the future.

Yeah, he's a loose unit. But mostly, he's young. he has a very high opinion of himself and half a million insta followers. This is simply the way of the world these days.

He'll repeatedly step up to the line and Geelong will repeatedly make excuses for him because he's talented. Eventually he'll step over the line, Geelong will scold him publicly and then go back to repeatedly making excuses for him...

Given Florent has 4 years to run on his contract there is 0 chance he's a DFA, and while Ainsworth may be a bit of a salary dump he's still not going to go for a 'late late pick'.
Solid role players don't get traded for peanuts even if they're coming at a discount (Bowes who was owed 1.2 million the obvious exception)
