Why is it that Collingwood never seem to win a trade deal? Schultz, Henry, Stephenson, Treloar, Grundy, Beams (trade back) to name a few......

The last was Pick 5, 25 and Crisp for Dayne Beams but that was cancelled out a few years later when Beams returned for 2 first rounders.
I couldn’t care less if we never win a trade deal. Flags are the goal.

I responded on the MB to a post about our “diabolical” trade of our 2021 1st rounder.
The Saints supporter didn’t reply and they all seem to have gone quiet for some reason…

Callaghan - GWS pick 3.
Daicos - Collingwood pick 4.
We traded it out to bring in youth a year earlier, knowing it would’ve been eaten by ND points.
If either of those 2 players had kicked on it or we didn’t crash on the ladder it’s a non issue.
More context, it was the same year we dumped players to fix our salary cap.
Quite remarkable we won a flag 3 years later 😊

Best and worst of future trading per HS

North would of Bid on Nick at Pick IF we kept Pick 2

So we could have had Murphy Reid and kept Ginni or had Schultz. We paid well overs. Also look at what we got for Ginni who is a better footballer and is younger
LOL. Ginni the better player :tearsofjoy:

He does not suit our system at all. Be serious. What indication do you have that we would have picked Reid? No way Hine goes with him IMO

Get back to me when Schultz manages 40 in a year.

Schultz is probably done in 4 years while Ginni will still be playing good footy for the Hawks

Hine was a lot more likely to take Murphy Reid the small forward over Jonty Faull. When was the last time Hine used a first round pick on a tall forward?

Ah well, you're right - goals are the be-all and end-all! Why didn't I think of that...

Schultz retiring at 31 because reasons? Sure thing!

Yeah remind me what is the objective of the game? To out score your opponents.

Ginni has a greater goal, disposal and score involvements per game average over his career than Schultz. Literally the only statistical category Schultz is ahead of him is tackles per game.

Schultz is already starting to pick up a lot of soft tissue injuries and you don’t see too many pressure forwards playing deep into their 30s

who's spot is Ginnivan taking in our team?
He was out sprinted by Sidey in the first game against the Hawks. Lacks the work ethic and application of Schultz.
This season Schultz had more score Involvements, total tackles and I50 tackles per game than Ginnivan.

And went at less than a goal a game

So you're getting excited about the fact Ginnivan scored 1.2 compared to Shooters 0.8.
Sorry - but that's wholly unconvincing.
It’s 50% more. He played higher up the ground winning more of the ball and still managing more goals.

If the market price for Schultz was right we got unders for Ginni

If the market price was right for Ginni we paid overs for Schultz

Per other stats I've shown that Shooter is a more rounded player, and that goal difference is completely irrelevant in that context.
You still haven't told us who Ginnvan replaces in our best 23 - because its not Shooter
