Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Tbh I dont see how they get the trac deal done and bring in their academy players - they wont have the picks

Its been reported quite a bit that they won't let those picks go for Petracca without getting a bunch of later picks back to cover the academy kids.

Which is what the hold up would be on the trade.

They've got a lot of points to make up though if both boys go top 5.

But that then nullifies Trac's value

Not saying its humphrey, but other players will have to be squeezed out for pciks surely. idk

Looks like Gold Coast are going to need more first rounders for their academy kidsView attachment 2454456

If that's the deal, they could match bids for Uwland & Patterson at #3 and #5.
But then have nothing for their other academy kids, so will need more picks.

If the bids come later, they're pretty sweet. If they come earlier, they're in trouble.

Tom Morris reporting Suns will give 7 & 8 for Petracca with 24 coming back.

Would leave them with a draft hand of 15, 18, 24, 29, 36 & 52 totalling 3268 points.
If Uwland and Patterson get bids at 2 & 5 that’s 3848 points after the discount.

Something will have to give you’d think.

It’s a pipe dream but get the Charlie deal done with Sydney and then 10 & 11 to the Suns for Walter or Humphrey and 18 back gives them what they need for Uwland, Patterson and a bit more to cover some of the other academy kids if they want em.

Would value Humphrey/Walter at pick 7, which is probably fair value for Walter but unders for Humphrey, possibly a later pick back than 18 if it’s him but maybe the overvaluing of Ainsworth is taken into account in all of this.

Big 3 days here, go you Baggers

EDIT: I didn’t take into account pick 37 they’ll get for Budarick.. but this still won’t cover them off

My math may be wrong but with this deal they’d have 3268 points.
With only a 10% discount now that would only allow them match bids at 2 & 10, 3 & 8 or 4 & 6.
They’d definitely need to do something

EDIT: Sorry didn’t allow for 37 for Budarick, add that in they’d be roughly 10 points short of matching 3 & 5

Yeah, I was already counting them getting #37 from the Dogs for Budarick.
They would be able to match bids at #3 & #5.

They're going to want more points.

wow - melb media really pushing Curnow to the Cats. I feel bad for Charlie, and esp Geelong. Surely we should just accept a couple of picks in the late 50's.
I don't.

He's engaged one of the most problematic player managers to get him out of a long-term contract HE signed, and it's now all backfiring.

Good luck to 'em all. Give us what we feel is appropriate.
