Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Charlie spends every moment he is not obliged to be in Melbourne down in the Torquay area.

Family, surfing, mates are very very very important to him.

Sydney would mean he seems much less of his family than he does now.

I get the sense his preference for Geelong was followed by daylight, and then Sydney/GCS.

Is there a scenario where (assuming Geelong don't come up with a satisfactory offer for Carlton), once he realises his only non-Carlton option is in Sydney ,far away from family, that he gets cold feet on the whole thing and ends up staying at Carlton?

Not entirely true curnow isn't back in torquay as much as you think.
Tdk on the other hand basically lives here that's why I'm surprised he went to stk going to be a very long drive to training

Don't be deal junkies with Curnow.
Unless we get an A grader or pick 2 in the mix with nothing going back-No Deal.
It's better he stays with Carlton and at worst sits in the 2s which he will not do because it is in his interest to play well and increase his value.
CARLTON including its supporters hold all.the cards because he is on a multi yr contract. Not 1 yr but 4 yrs.
So the other clubs can stop messaging who they can.not trade and start ponying up. Curnow is not a Carlton Problem. He is D'arazios', Swans, Cats and Bailey Smith's problem.

People keep forgetting the 4 year contract part. It's like many have been conditioned to player wanting out = player goes wherever he wants. This is a very different situation.

Petracca is older and less of a game changer than Curnow could be for the Swans, and still looks like he will fetch 2 first rounders.

I am beginning to think a 3rd or even 4th club will get involved, with Sydney ponying up picks and maybe Heyward at most, and another player coming from elsewhere.

Frankly surprised at how unserious Geelong has been.

Why even talk about being engaged in getting a Deal if you won't make the moves to get the assets to offer?
they aren't serious. They are playing negotiation games with St Kilda re Marshall. Nothing to do with us or Charlie.

I think Geelong have to put together a reasonable offer with out upsetting the players and not ruining the locker room moral.
Massive watch on Sydney next year if they land curnow or not have shopped around a few players now, every chance cox could lose support of players

If Charlie goes - which I think he will - we better be getting good stuff back.

The real worry is the little "other thing" we throw into the deal. In the past that's been the killer... the extras which sound like not much but actually hurt. Eg. If we get next year's Swans F1 but our F2 is in the mix, it'll be reported as "Blues land multiple firsts in monster deal", but neglected to mention ACTUALLY those picks might only be about 8 places apart.

The details matter. Get it right this time, Blues. You don't sell a Charlie Curnow very often, so cash in.

If he wants to surf, send him to West Coast for picks 1 & 2 LOL
