I reckon it depends on this final series, has looked more settled last couple of weeks. If Morrison and Weddle push him out of the team, I think he will look elsewhere

I think Weddle long term can play a lot of positions so it more comes down to whether Jiath can cement his own spot in the team.

Nick Austin tonight: “Hello Mark McKenzie, when you sold me CJ Jiath, you didn’t mention one thing .. you never mentioned that he was a turn over merchant that can’t keep his feet.. no you didn’t! .. well .. ok .. that’s not my recollection.. yeah .. well ok, goodbye”

I'm hearing Saints are keen, heavily back ended deal as immediate cap space is diabolical - $3.5m over 4 years.

CJ only asked for $1.75m but SOS and co played hardball and doubled it.
And in late news, CJ has done the medical, agreed personal terms, Hawthorn asked for a token 6th Rd Draft Pick, Saints would only offer 7th, and Ross the Dross pulled the pin.

The Western Bulldogs must always have a surplus Hawthorn defender on our list, it is the only way. With Taylor Duryea retiring after the delisting or retiring of Tim O'Brien and Matt Suckling over the last several years, I fully expect CJ to be in red white and blue next year.

I am not excited for this.

It was an unpopular opinion at the time, but I felt that we should have traded him a couple of years ago when his trade value was higher and we were deep in the rebuild phase.

Probably worth holding as depth now.

I thought you guys would have gone hard after Scrimshaw. Especially with Butters coming next year.

Might be steak knives in a pick swap that unlocks an ok pick

Tylar Young for pick 38. A guy who couldnt get games at Richmond...

Saints were keen but Hawks asked for a top 10 pick despite only offering CJ a 1 year contract at $150k per year.
