Howe was a forward being played in defence wanting forward opportunities. He changed clubs with a promise of forward opportunities. He continued in defence and is a star. Many cases. I just think to switch to round out a players game is fine. But to change a player 10 games in is a poor outcome. Better recruiting is a superior option. (Love Presti and Tarrant).

The truth is, with Buller and West the likelier options in attack, there's probably not a spot for Howes as a forward, but my read on him is that he's maybe not the most intuitive key forward with great forward craft. However, he is athletically outstanding, including with good agility for a guy his size, which is handy in defense if you want to not be a witches hat.
As a rule, I'd give all tall forwards a run behind the ball before making a decision to delist. We've have such a rich history of turning key forwards into key backs that it's almost a standard path. Sometimes I think we make the change a little too early - I'd persist with Howes as our deepest forward for now, good forwards are so difficult to find and once they go back, they tend to stay there.
No need to ark up about it
Agreed that I think he has some great tools to make it as a defender, however I always prefer to let a key forward develop first and foremost as a forward. If in time their development stalls - or they prove not up to the grade as a KPF, then I'm all for trialing and developing them down back.
West is taller and much more athletic than Mihocek. Not sure why this myth that his size or athletic profile is similar to Mihocek's continues to persist
Quicker too. I think his contested marking will also be better in the long run too.

Correct and heās about the same size and bulk at Fogarty was at the same age. I have no idea how people canāt see his potential after good form in the VFL.

Thatās not what you said though when you said he looked completely lost. Of course he will have to prove himself but nobody had a more promising VFL season than him
