Another red and Auckland down to 9 now. Straight red for Rogerson.

Scramble in the box and a few blocked chances and the knights survive. 10 plus injury time to go

Abysmal defending on Auckland's first goal.

It is Wellington's ridiculous high line. You would have thought they would have learned after the first half hour in round 1 when the Glory went 2-0 up catching them out.

A goal from 18 year old Peter Antoniou rounds out the 2-0 win to keep Melbourne red white and blue. He was only on the field as Nathaniel Atkinson goes down with a hamstring injury (our 7th player on the injury list due to soft tissue injuries).

Thomas Beach was great in goal earning man of the match honours with some great saves.

The heat will be increasing on Arthur Diles if the Victory dont find some form after the international break

Am I the only one that doesn't think Auckland's first red was a red? There is clearly a covering defender close enough to warrant it being a yellow.
My reaction was a straight red, defender near by, but not between him and the goal and the only way he'd cover was due to the attacker being slowed down with the tackle that Jack Viney would be proud of.

Well if it shouldn't have been one, it made up for the DDT wrestling move that Cosgrove gave our defender in the first half and won the free kick for.

Caputo is going to be a beast once he fully matures. That City academy just keeps producing quality.

Is the 'NZ derby' a running joke? Auckland and Wellington are about as far from each other as Melbourne/Sydney or Melbourne/Adelaide.

It's a geographically spread league so "local" derbies have a looser definition.

Victory v Sydney have the Big Blue, Adelaide v Victory have the original rivalry.

If you think Auckland to Wellington is a stretch - the you might not want to know about the distance derby between Wellington and Perth.
