Opinion 2025 Picks 7* and 8* – who do you want?

Alright, back on track. I've whipped up a quick consensus again – will add the missing ones as they're made available.

I really like Taylor and would be happy if he slipped through. If we were to make three high-end picks though, I'd hope we'd take at least one midfielder. A third-tall defender, a HB flanker and a third-tall/forward flanker is a bit meh for that amount of draft capital.

Nairn would play wing for us IMO. Lots of the write ups about him suggest it, and it would be an obvious move to help facilitate Langford into the middle.

I'm still not 100% sold on Nairn (though I'm still playing a bit of catch up as he wasn't on my radar at all until about a week ago), but would be very happy with Taylor.

Agree, happy with Taylor, hopefully the Nairn stuff is a decoy like Leake, Bo Allen ect in previous years.

Think we should go Grlj if available or even the Dove to get some speed/pressure/agility in. We have invested heavily in wingmen the last few years - Billings, Hunter, Langford, Windsor, Culley, Lindsay ect. Albeit some are gone/moved around it would still be good to get some more speed / pressure players in.

Nairn is ranked in 20s across most phantoms, I would be ok using GC1 on him while taking best available with 7/8.

what a horrendous take. Yeah, Melbourne's first round pick in an extremely important draft before Tassie come in is going to hinge on the injury of a guy that would've been overlooked in his draft year if not for the academy and is about a 95% chance of never making it as an afl player...

Hard to know how much is legit atm, Essendon and Melbourne are both trying to bluff each other out with those picks. Essendon just trying to make sure they don't have to pick Sharp before our picks. Bit of 'purposeful leaking' going on I would suggest.

Taylor would make up for the Nairn pick in my own mind. I really think we should be getting Sharp though. If we're interested in Nairn and have no issues over his pace then the same could be said for Sharp. If not, we should be meeting with Sharp over the next 2 days and pressure the bombers to take Sharp. Either way, a bit more action and games Lamby.

They know we don't want Sharp, so they can take other players before our picks and know Sharp will still be there at pick 9. The joker in the pack is us threatening to trade our pick with the Hawks who would take Sharp.
