That was a reference to Chinese annoucements that often had those words, 'upset the feelings of the Chinese people' and similar.

We’ve done exactly the same. To China.

Cast your mind back to 2020. Australia had just released the Brereton report detailing SASR war crimes against Afghan civilians, including an SASR trooper slitting the throat of a child. A Chinese artist did basically a political cartoon qbout this and Morrison and our media blew a f**king gasket:

Claiming the cartoon had offended Australia and our “great” armed forces. Demanding an apology (it never came). Claiming it “harmed” relations (it didn’t).

So we do it too. Governments claiming words that hurt them also hurt Australians as a whole. As an Australian I personally found that cartoon to be extremely telling and ironic, wasn’t offended in the slightest.

I'm not Aussie :grinv1:

Why do you post every single article you can find showing a tiny drop in Chinese exports is “destroying” the country? The cause was a U.S. trade war that hurt the U.S. far more than it did China, now with Trump cowardly admitting defeat that number should return to a positive soon. An only 1% drop in exports given the massive tariffs Trump imposed is a testament to how quick China found alternate trading partners.

I can find an article showing how every nation on earth is economically “hurting”, including this one.

It's called telling the truth.
Do you have a problem with the truth?

An article from my apparent employer, looking at the disinformation networks the PRC use and how it was mobilised during the recent unsafe interception of a RAAF P8 by a PLAN J-16 fighter.

They've been doing it for a while. I used to think some of the early ones were pilots being a bit full of themselves, but now it's probably them pushing things, seeing how far they can go, what are the responses, and from what I have seen culturally just being a tough guy, a bully, trying to earn some big dick face.

china is targeting our infrastructure.
More evidence if needed that they can't be trusted.
For a spy Mike Burgess sure loves his publicity. Maybe he's after more money for his agency again. In the same speech he did his usual anti-Israeli and revolutionary elements are a major threat to Australian security BS.

Australia has an offensive cyber capability, and the ADF has its Information Warfare Division. I'd be pretty certain that Australia would be testing China's network and infrastructure vulnerabilities too.

Looks like those thousands of years of diplomacy experience is paying off for the Chinese. After the new Japanese PM said essentially Japan could get pulled into a conflict between China and Taiwan, PRC Consul General in Osaka said she should be beheaded. :confusedv1:
Nice

Some of the responses to the whole spat have been over the top.
Here's one that's even-keeled.

Explainer: Why did Japan PM's Taiwan remarks cause such a stir?

What a wonderful government the PRC is.
Last time they did something like this about a million Taiwanese demonstrated and it separated the two sides even more.
TBH though I don't know if people care much about 'influencers', but it could become an interesting net fight.

More double standards from china, as they condemn US arms sales to Taiwan, but supply israel and russia with equipment.

And? We (Australia) sell arms to Israel while condemning sales to Russia. Everyone does. We’re all hypocritical.

Unless we overturn the entire global arms industry (considered the most profitable manufacturing sector on the planet) then it’ll continue.

Do we sell arms to russia and claim we are a peaceful nation?
Even you as a fan of the CCP must find it laughable that china sells equipment to israel and russia, and then condemns another country selling arms to Taiwan
