That's the saddest post I've ever read šŸ˜‚ up there with knowing Bartels missus publicist and claiming inside info on zorko and Petty
Kozzy's old man would be shattered he's not ranked as the funniest dad at the club.

Don't know if this family member has meet kozzy dad. Will ask my wife to ask him next time, she see them, but my wife favorite player is kozzy, and her most hated was truc, because his band has become so big, he doesn't meet and great supporters, unless he is getting paid

I have a direct quote from clarry about leaving the Melbourne Football Club, when asked how do you feel about leaving Melbourne? Clayton said it's just a job and he rather have gone to Geelong

Barassi,
Flower,
-------,
-------,
-------,
-------,
-------,
then the rest...
Gawn,
Stynes,
Schwartz (could have been the best but cut down by knees), Neitz,
Tracca, Wight, Hassa, Wells, Alves, Hardeman...

raffle the rest.

Gawn - right near the top
Petracca - high but short of the greatest of all time conversation
Oliver - a clear third, and despite the 4x B&F and iconic Grand Final goal I don't think his reputation will have anywhere near the same staying power

I live in Echuca and this is what he told my wife, who knows Clayton grandfather, and had a chat to Clayton, when he was at his grandfather house in Echuca, she asked him and this is what he said to her, I share this because it's true

I don't think anyone cares what he said mate - his behaviour was a massive part of why we completely fell apart after winning a flag. I think it is much better for him to be away from the club, and I know we are a lot better off without him.

Gawn surely now the third greatest Demon behond Ronald Dale and Robbie. Maybe anotgher AA and a flag would put him in the conversation with the other two, but I don't think he's at that level. Neitz IMO would be next. Could put a heap of others in the mix for #5. Plenty of the old guys we never saw live but we clearly had an amazing list. But I wouldn't be upset with Jimmy at #5. I don't think Trac or Oliver are in the top 5 imo.

I don't like Gawn but I can't find a reason why he's not considered our all-time greatest outside of Barassi... his career shits on Robbie Flowers.

You don’t like Gawn?
A joy to watch on the field but something about his personality irks me a bit.
Some of that might just be that he's been a mouthpiece for the club and we've been a shambles for three years... not sure really.

I totally get it although it's an issue with modern players in general but it's the inauthenticity when speaking about where the club's been i.e still making finals and teams are jealous of us bullshit. Like just say were shit once

I think he's a really likeable guy. I reckon a lot of the club talk had to do with Goody's messaging tbh.

You know what, it might just be that he's friends with that dickhead from Hamish & Andy.
Can't stand those two.
Agree on hating H&A. Blandest duo around but seemed to be everywhere between about 2007-2020

Yeah this is how I feel.

Looking back, the Goody years, especially the last two, were fairly cultish. Don’t admit to failures on or off field, we know best, don’t question our method etc etc.

I reckon Gawn got told to toe the line in the media tbh.

Gawn is a company man through and through, never going to pot the club. The moment Goodwin was out the door Gawn was talking about how excited it made him.

The most honest I've seen him was after the pies loss when he was pissed about us losing yet another close game. No coincidence he was speaking to the playing group and not a triple m breakfast show.

Yeah if you are having the conversation post 22 season, you could easily make a case for Oliver being on track to be a club goat. The drop off and unnecessary drama puts him a distant third.

Don’t really have an issue with those who pot Trac to some extent but it speaks volumes that we were able to still get a massive haul of picks for him as a 30 year old coming off a shit year whereas Oliver was for a pick we’re unlikely to use plus us paying half a million per year for another club to take him off our hands.

Yep. To be honest reading between the lines I think Max was glad to see the back of Goody/Trac/Oliver, even if he liked them.
