Cmon be real, quoting a career number when there have been calls in the past when he’s struggled?
For a long time he was not closing out games in the second innings when conditions suited him. Selectors kept picking him when there was good reason not to, but they stuck with him and well done to them that they stayed the course. He was even being openly criticised by Lehmann when he was coaching at one point.

But recently?
Are we all forgetting that he was dropped for an all pace attack earlier this year vs the Windies?
Bowled 40 wicket less overs as SAfrica picked up a WTC title this year.
Was injured just last test and couldn’t bowl?

This is all during a period covering his last four tests only.

And it’s a pink ball test with an England side that didn’t last 80 overs in two innings with a red ball last time out.

It’s not as an amazing omission as most people don’t think there should be change because there hasn’t been. But I am in the minority I certainly understand that.

That's where you put restrictions on the batters as well.
You MUST be ready to face the ball when the bowler is standing at the top of thier mark.

I know why the aussies are doing this but the ICC need to stamp this rubbish out. Same with the slow over rates.
It has to be addressed. Nit one umpire has said a word here yet this over has taken like 8-10 minutes. Just ridiculous

Start pinging them 5 runs for every over they are short and that would change player behaviour pretty quickly.

I have no idea how it could be implemented of course, just talking generally.

My thought is if you don't bowl a certainly number of overs in a session then you field one short for 30 minutes after the break.
