I knew Liam Ryan could take a big mark.

I knew Liam Ryan was dangerous around goals.

I had no idea his passing inside 50 was so lethal.

Noticed it last week and noticed it today he just laces it out or kicks it into space for our forwards to lead into the ball.

His 2 passes to Nas inside 50 was so good you could just see how in sync they are with each other.

A really nice surprise.

Oh and Nas streaming out of the centre and hitting Higgins on the tit.

Yes please more of that.

I’m going back to watching us on TV. Can’t afford drinking at the game.

Hard ground to see what’s going on at the opposite end and far too much red white and black for someone whose colour blind.

Thought TDk, Sinclair, Windy and Flanders were pretty good. Nas is from another planet.

Don't worry, Israels nukes are only capable of hitting the West Coast of Australia. Increases our chances if Freo is wiped out

I don't know about that, Freo are one of the few teams I would back us to beat in a GF, they can choke even more than we can.

So preseason Byrnes was the scapegoat, played well last week, so scapegoating duties fell to Carroll, now he was good Keeler is copping it in the scapegoat stakes.
Here a tip, sometimes players have poor games, sometimes they play out of position, sometimes they are still developing.
The pile on for Keeler is unfair. Far from the finished product, is still developing and went ok as a fill. n down back last week.
Bet he cant wait for Tobie to get a gig to take the pressure off him and take the scapegoat reigns once again 🤣😅

Not to offend - but do you ever consider your perception of players differs because you get to speak to them and see them in the flesh on a weekly basis?

Never speak to players, or very rarely. Have always said I have biases like everyone else.
All four of the players mentioned are not favourites of mine. Have been critical of Carroll, Travaglia and Keeler over the course, have been generally positive over Byrnes but always recognise his limitations.
But I can and do see positives in all 4. Carroll was good over preseason on a hbf but then I reported he needed to do more or he would be off the list. Seems he went well today.
I was very harsh on Travaglia earier in preseason but could see him improving, second year player so I cut him some slack.
Byrnes has been good all preseason and excelled in match sim.and then up to his injury.
Keeler is developing, but have stated if we could only have one of him or Dodson, I would trade Keeler.
And really the post was tongue in cheek. If the only exposure is games even just praccy's, well conclusions are drawn and fair enough.
Seeing them more often gives a more rounded view.....but form on the training track means nothing, form in games from now on is what matters.

I think his comment was pretty tongue in cheek tbh, I was actually a big fan of his commentary and he had a lotta good things to say about us

He mentioned how hard it was to coach against RTB and Chris Scott has said the same, no coaches said that with Richo or Ratten

It was a good win, but I'm far from convinced our back line will hold up when playing stronger teams. Especially if we don't have both Wilkie & Silvagni on the park.

I took the opposite message out of today. We looked OK without Wilkie and Silvagni. Even Keeler held his own. Stocker brilliant and Carroll serviceable. Marshall floating back to assist helped too.

Caminiti tries hard but he is really clunky in his efforts. The way he looked today he is going to have a lot of goals kicked on him. We know he can play better but he still needs a lot of support around him. Lets just say all his smarts must go into studying his engineering degree.

We aren't winning a flag without a dominant 200cm key defender IMO.

Too many games like today and Hammer will lose his spot to Howard.

Keeler has a way to go. I believe he is better forward , but it won't hurt him to learn the game in defence.

Tauru looks good floating across marking contests, but has is a long way from holding down a key post.

Windhager was really good apart from a couple of kicks. Stocker & Carroll looked shaky.

I reckon Byrnes might miss a fair bit of footy the way he was looking in the rooms.

Our other obvious weakness was a key forward to take a contested mark. Sharman just shouldnt be expected to play that role.
Well they held up pretty okay today for a first hit out scratch match without Wilks, Jsos, Howard.
They ran back and clogged up the d50.
I was opposite. Thought once our starting Backman are in. Good luck to Oppo scoring.

im sick of people dishing caminiti

he'll be A Grade before we know it
I only saw a tiny fraction of the game but I thought he was extremely stiff for that in-the-back free against 2MP.

I thought he had his arms fully extended by the time Wright backed into his hands and that he didn’t push him forward from there, so as far as I’m aware, that shouldn’t be a free kick.

That’s going right back to the time where it was a free just for putting your hands in someone’s back.

Wilkie will give away dozens of frees if that’s how they’re paying them now.

My take away, same as the first game -

Windhager has levelled up - and his disposal is ✅
Pou - class - yes handballs a lot, even that with kicks a bit, but his handballs benefit teammates.

Our kids are good ladies and gents - footy media starting to realise what we have know all along..

If we don’t get stage fright next Sunday evening with the crowd, I recon we spank the pies. 🥧

Windy and Sinclair half back pigs. Weapon of a combo. Pumped for the class and cool heads of those two with Wilks and Silvagni

Tauru is gonna be very good. Just so natural at what he does

I've been cold on Owens for a while, but he was a beast out there

Don't know why they haven't made it available in the Videos section of the website, but I was able to put this URL together from the above AFL article for a direct link to the press conference

Missing Wilkie and Silvagni. Put those two in and our intercept game and our ability to repel quick entries goes up.
