My only issue is it will be Taranto, Hopper & Prestia in the guts. Not the young guys we need to get games into due to injuries or position.

McAullife should be in the midfield rotations. He’s had his best preseason to date, and has the outside game to compliment those 3.

He wasn’t great last week, but that wasn’t in his preferred role.

I’m confused as to why we are playing him in the wing role, Smillie, Cumming, Hotton all injured, surely now is the perfect opportunity to play him in the guts

Restschko was was best on in his 1st vfl praccy and in our top 3 easily on the weekend?

the move is based on the opinion that seems to be popular here that ralph-smith should be out no matter if his replacement is actually better

for what it’s worth those i spoke to who went to the carlton vfl praccy didn’t rate retschko’s performance much so
i think he stays there for now

Makes sense, especially if Gray isn't required to play 2nd ruck. He barely got on the field. Lefau provides much better team balance.

You may well be right. However, if you watched the vision from Thursday nights game, Hopper didn’t have the speed and endurance to keep pace with the play when ball left his area. He wasn’t explosive or agile when he was in the contest (normally at stoppages). His decision making was slow and he turned the ball over on a number of occasions.

For his own confidence, he needs a run in the VFL side. I’d be honest, at the moment I’d prefer Sonsie in the midfield rotations over Hopper. Finally, if Yze is going to emphasise selection integrity when questioned at press conferences, then Hopper’s form doesn’t justify him being selected.

I pretty much agree with everything you said, but as a senior player and a perceived leader I reckon club will not react after one week.

HRS is currently costing us games. Retschko needs a chance at the top level. He has the elite athletic attributes required to apply pressure which we severely lacked in the first half v Carlton.

gold coast didn’t travel west, they played two straight games at home, this is their first time travelling this year

We'll definitely win...I've put a fiddy on it...Last week we were good...We were ironing out creases in-game, while Carlton had the opportunity to do that the week before...Patently unfair advantage...But I digress...We play the G better than GC...It's just the way it is...
