If a young guy with Allan's athletic profile won't use those traits defensively - it shows he doesn't have the heart to compete and a will to win.

Kinda knew that the round 24 game in 2024 where he looked Nat Fyfe for 5 minutes was gonna be the peak.

The most disappointing thing about Allan is that he has all the physical attributes to be a very good player at the highest level. However, he has never really shown that he is capable of being that player. Whether its mental, a lack of intensity, I just cant work him out.
It is, unfortunately, time to look past him as the next man in. From the small sample size I have seen of Anderson, I think we should be looking to him as the next man in. The has the physical attributes, a hardened senior footballers body, and a willingness to go hard that should, in theory, stand him in good stead at the higher level. If he has a decent game today, its time to see if he step up to the next level.
As for Allan, I think its time for us to cut our losses at the end of the season. We wont get anything for him, but he's taking up a spot on our list, and on the available evidence, he is not making it with us.

I am no doubt in the minority but I thought Ed put his body on the line a lot more last night.
Not as if he was getting much help from anyone.
I think bringing Nick along was a bad mistake, pulling him at the last minute unsettled the team badly.
If they'd ruled him out before leaving Melbourne the team would have had time to come to terms with it.

I’ve given up on him being a good player. I think there would be more guts to his game by now. I know it can be hard playing well in a poorly performing team last night.

But I actually would continue to play him to try and put him in the shop window for a trade at seasons end, and/or have a last ditch attempt of bringing up to speed.

100% agree on this - Allan for me is a bust. Real shame as you mention as he has the physical attributes.

The only issue for me is how deep do we cut at year end as there is a conga line of possible delists - Ryan, HDM Jiath, not to mention the retirement group Pendles, Howe, Membrey et al
