I challenge anyone out the to name a better batting lineup then this at their club:

1. L.Watts
2. G.Jackson (yeah i know, we have no other openers)
3. P.Arandt
4. B.Tarran
5. J.Tarran
6. A.Howard
7. D.Martin
8. A.Dundon
9. T.Muir (once again struggling to explain a reason why he is here, need a keeper)
10. S.Watts
11. L.Irving

just wanna mention the top 6, can't see anyone having better.

Isn't your No 6 in the sin bin?

Paul Arandt's form continued today with a half century against the Murray Valley CA at Chittick Park. SDCA posted 204, Subba planting a few big ones over the fence. Couple of questionable decisions, Corey Jack given out caught down leg side, the opposition even laughing at the bad decision given by the officiating umpire.

Dundon and Blackwell opened the bowling when I left.

Side was Blackwell (B'ford), Arandt (T'rook), Douglas (Broadford), Jack (Alex), Hede (Kilmore), Gordon (Seym), Youngman (where's he playing???), Spargo (B'ford), Miller (Yea), Dundon (T'rook), Muir (T'rook).

Davern (Kilm) withdrew with young Trav Muir a last minute call up, and I think John Green (Ave) may have pulled out also.

To keep this whole rep cricket debate going, my 20-man Melb CW squad would is as follows . . . . Blackwell (capt), Douglas (B'ford), Arandt, Dundon, J. Tarran, L. Watts (T'rook), Jack, Cavill, Nichol (Alex), S. Donovan, Green (Ave), Miller, Atkins (Yea), Gordon, S. Allum (Sey), Youngman, Smith-Williams (Hill), Hede, McLeod, Davern (Kilm), Black (Pucka).

Couldnt find a spot for Wranga in the country week side?

Couldnt find a spot for Wranga in the country week side?

Haven't seen a tiges game Chrissie and to be honest have no idea how Ryan is hitting them, plenty of batting in my list as I said just going off the scores Im hearing . . . . . please tell him not to be offended as I know bugger all really ;)

Any scores from yesterday boys Joey how did the Pyalong boys go?

Pyalong won easily mate, bowling Heathcote out for 90 odd, we made the runs 1 down before drinks. Mark Ruddick and Brendan Zoch taking 4 each with the ball, whilist pick of the bats was Jack Martin made 61 not out (4 sixes and 7 fours) and young Hayden Smith was 17 not out at stumps.

the rook a grade continued on their merry way today against kilmore. after continuing on from 2-17 over night the watts family put on a 100 odd partnership b4 the old champ was out lbw for 41. lachie soon followed for a fine 60-70 odd. this brought my man subba to the crease along with joey at around 4-140. well let's just say they put on a clinic of stroke play, not sure if it was the quality of the batting or the mediocrity of the bowling. The guy who bowled spin from the top end needs to plays some games in c grade imo. Bowled more short balls then a tim muir spell.

I know i have been heaping praise on young subba but he showed today what he is capable of. Played some shots today that guys will go and watch cricket to see. Made a fine 55 n.o and joey a 47. Have made a trip to melbourne tonight to buy some iron on transfers. S-U-B-B-A will look good on the back of the rook shirt. Thats right i'm the No1 subba groupie!!

i cant believe you omitted wranga. he always seems to make runs in the country week games, even if he has been struggling all year.
and as the great aussie singer/songwriter shannon noll sang, ' WHAT ABOUT ME!!'
if marcus davon gets a spot infront of me, it is high time i joined the o'sullivan show, and big jikka spargo over at the seymour bowling club rink.

A bit harsh Doona, if you are going on form so far this season Heathcote's Justin Hancock's form with the bat & ball has been excellent:thumbsu:

Great topic Doona,
Think we should look beyond reputation as Rohan Murray has already posted 2 50's and 1 ton opening the batting for nagas this year. Infact i think he has had only one hit below 30. SO for mind he would be the man at Nagas.

50's and A ton from Rohan, and plenty of bags of wickets for Simon.
Such a shame these guys dont have an A Grade

i would have to slot in nagambies murray and eastern hills robbie d'orria. murray has made a power of runs and doz is the premier opener in the competition at the moment.
perhaps even brett spargo from broadford. seems to always be getting amongst the runs.
aaron miller seems to get plenty of runs hit of him, im not too sure about him, and as i said in another post, i dont rate marcus davern too highly.

Miller, Spargo or Sam Watts? I reckon Mick Brown still the pick of the keeper/batsmen but if I picked whom I thought my best XI was there'd be a few over the 30 bracket which aint a great advertisement for the comp :D

who is the most over-rated player in the comp?
who is the best batsman in the comp?
who is the best bowler in the comp?
who is the best allrounder?

Robbie (Jippo) Dorria the best opener in the comp. Now that's taking me back 20 years. Next you will be telling me that Brett Hall is the best bowler in the competition.
