Absolutely nothing if it is not played at 100%, just look at the issues with NBA All-Star weekend. They have tied themselves in knots trying to get around the lack of player competitiveness.
Disappointing if that's the case because some of the great players will never play in a GF or even PF...
He's played a lot of finals (12) and has the 6th best equal player rating of the last 10 years. His final performances are by no means a blemish on his stature in the game.
For the record I believe he right now sits within a pack of players who are potential AFL Legends albeit Club Legends...
Another All-Australian year off 18 games, 2nd greatest Bulldog in the 150th year voting, four-year contract extension, opened a milk bar. He's doing ok I reckon.
Not much, looks like the Saints are heavily into him. Great kick, strong body, hard-nosed, I would be flabbergasted if he is not on an AFL list in 2026. If no one has bid on him previously, does that make him eligible for the Saints to still take him under Father and Son?
They are very good, but all wrapped up in contracts out to 2027. We are likely only probing for Wilkie also contracted to 2027, due to the Saints throwing money like it's going out of fashion.
Mofra's assessment is pretty much spot on, I'd maybe only add Laverde if you think his 1v1 drop off is...
The good news is that we don't go into the off-season thinking what might have been. There is no version of our defence that was capable of a deep run in finals, and we have tried them all.
We are indeed the flat track bullies until we change that narrative. Over to Sam and the recruiting team...
"But list management is a brutal business and time is like a coat hanger tackle around the neck. Both take players out of the game. "
This should be pinned to every trade thread, bar none.
If we lose some of those must win games I would agree and bring them in for the last 2 or 3. I disagree with Davidson, he could genuinely play on any line at this stage.
This was probably the first confirmation game where I thought he doesn't quite have it for finals, wet conditions often do that. He tried hard and it's not sad, more of a nod for the champion of the club he has been. That said I 100% hope he proves me wrong the champ.
My mate who is Lions and I, identified two threats in each others offence tonight. West and Rayner. Neither of us could pick a natural cover from each 22, Answerth would have been for Lions.
Sanders was blind dart because Rayner looked pumped from the walk in TBH.
In all fairness I think Poulter was actually quite effective coming off the bench in conditions not exactly conducive to his stature. Would not be surprised if he has a breakout season next year.
