It seems out of character for Pendles to draw such “player ahead of team” attention to himself.
I’m sure the opposition coach will be using it as motivation to get his players fired up to make Pendles eat dirt. We would, if the situation was reversed.
I get the marketing angle but we could...
I would love you to be correct.
If it was up to me, I’d demand Allan back it up with a couple of repeat performances in the VFL and then bring him in against the WCoast. Playing him against Cats seems to have far more downside risk than upside potential.
Allan on Dempsey on a wing could end Allan's career! It feels like that pr!ck (Dempsey) always seems to save his best game of the year for us.
Allan seems to be stuck in this twilight zone where he plays well as a centre square mid in the VFL to earn promotion into the AFL side, only to then...
It might prove to be a necessity but gee a ruck combo of Steene & Buller is a concern. Perhaps it won’t be exposed badly against the Cats but a week later against the Swans might be a different story. Hopefully DC gets up.
15.3 is abnormally accurate. We lost virtually every other metric, so can’t be too unhappy to walk away with 2 points.
Hopefully Perryman not out for too long and Darcy Cameron OK. Will be good to get Pendles, Howe and McCreery back. West in for Buller?
Yeah, fair enough. It’s just disappointing that all of Pendles, Howe and McCreery each just played their best games of the season and will now miss against a powerful Hawks outfit. I'm a bit bummed!
You may well be right. I reckon that would make more sense if there was evidence of his interrupted pre-season adversely affecting his on-field performance. But he played a great game. So at face value, we'll be pulling him just as he hits peak form.
I think it more likely that he strained...
Yep. I seem to recall us getting a couple of games clear at top of ladder last year and then managing a bunch of players. Next minute, we're in the mother of all losing streaks.
Fit young bucks like McCreery either get omitted because of poor form, or miss through injury. They don't get...
Nightmare. Basically throwing the game. Unlike Geelong, historically we've never been very good at managing players without also killing the team's momentum. This shapes as another example of that.
You're probably correct.
Personally, I wouldn't be dropping Howe, especially with dodgy Moore returning. Who knows how many minutes he'll last this time? Howe's game against the Bombers was the best he has played in ages.
