Analysis The Rebuilds of Geelong and Richmond and their Future Prospects

Didn't they trade us the pick for Holmes as well?

Anyone hear of rumors of a possible debutant?

Toast Max Holmes extends his contract for four years.

Astute piece of coaching- load up with defence midfielders so we have runners like holmes on the rebound. Doesn't yet have the contested game for the midfield against the big boys but even if he doesn't develop that in his game he can be an AA level wing or half back

Traded Esava Ratugolea [Traded to Port Adelaide for #25, #76 and #94]

Thanks for that. I thought he was part of the West Coast Academy.

He looks the pick of the 3 players mentioned. I wonder why no interest from West Coast? He looks AFL ready imo

VFL VFL 2024 - Geelong & the greater league

Really like what I am seeing from some of the younger players we have on our list. A number of late picks who look like they could become serviceable role players. Humphries in particular has been impressive.

Confirmed Max Holmes [re-signed with Geelong through 2028]

I agree with this - he is a better prospect than Cerra was when he was traded purely due to his athletic traits though. He has shown that he can play to a near AA level on the wing and now is showing he can do it on the back flank. The question mark is on whether he wins enough contested ball to...

Are you ok? Did you even read the context of the previous message before smashing that on the keyboard? Has tanner ever won a game off his own boot? No. A moronic take would be calling him Bruhnlow, a gun or star based on a a 20 touch 50% DE game as a midfielder. This thread was bumped by...

I was referring to the Brisbane game - 47% disposal efficiency

I don't think I have been that harsh is 2024. I have said he is much improved. He has been called 'a gun', star and 'future captain material and Bruhnlow. Right now that is not what he is. I am calling what he is currently - a starting midfielder who is only just achieving the minimum standard...

Our midfield is getting smashed every week and Tanner is a key component of that midfield. Scott has found a way of winning. Will it last? Who knows. Winning certainly papers over the cracks and will be interesting if everyone turns on the midfielders when/if we lose

No comment after the previous 2 games? When geelong got on top in the last against Brisbane, Tanner was riding the pine 😀
