We've finished above 6th just once in 10 years, most of which was with him in the team
Last year though... Its all speculation but shit would've been nice to have the Brownlow medallist (yeah probably wouldn't have gotten the flagellation if he was still here rather than Melbourne but would've been handy nonetheless)

Sure, but I seem to recall he talked a lot more about performing in finals than he actually did for us

Was very hit n miss with us

True, but midfield was our key weakness. He left a huge hole we are yet to fill.

I would rate losing Gov as massive though. Moreso since his recent absence. Everyone fell out of form and we played too tall and slow in his absence which probably exacerbated things. But God damn he looks primed. Just get it done ffs

Losing one of Gov or Lever is far less than ideal, losing both would be a total PR disaster for a club who has had its share.

I still worry how Gov turns into that 2nd tall in years to come.

He carried us as much as he is currently carrying geelong
Had a poor Bulldogs final in 15 but backed it up with a BOG game against Hawthorn in a team that got smashed.

I wouldn't say he was brilliant in many of our finals, but that is probably a symptom of being in a team that failed.

I think we saw the type of player he will be last week. Unfortunately it was in the lynch role which we already have covered. We have two guys who are/will be outstanding at the roaming forward role.

Assuming they're both fit and firing, though, we could conceivably move Lynch into a full time midfield role with the occasional rest up forward. God knows he spends enough time pushing up the ground that he's already half a midfielder anyway. I think he actually played a bit of midfield for Glenelg during his first season when he came over here prior to breaking into the senior side, didn't he?

Sorry, I was at that game and I was PISSED at Danger's game with his only desire to be a front runner when there was an easy ball to get. When he just had to be a little bit defensive he was pointing fingers at everyone else to chase his man if he was close enough to actually effect a contest. He only would put on a chasing effort when the player was too far away to actually catch him. I was sitting at ground level near the Crows bench and that was one of worst effort games for us I had ever seen.

If we lose Gov we should draft Houlahan to replace him. He is very similar to Hayward. Had his shoulder operated on so missed a bit of footy with that. Fast, great mark and can kick goals. Should be an early second.

Recruit good player, lose him, recruit replacement good player, rinse, repeat ...

That's how I remember it too Nikki. Actually, when I think about it ... has Danger played a great final yet? For us or the Cats?

True, but why? Sure the whole team (Crows) has periods of hit and miss, but Danger seems to be consistently on another level with Geelong.

That's the frustrating part. He was a guy who performed below par in big matches for us, but at Geelong he looks like Luke Hodge crossed with Andy McLeod in terms of big game performance

Except that Sydney final, he was horrid despite his possession count.

Has he performed like a superhuman in the finals yet for Geelong? They scrambled over the line against the Hawks, and got smashed by the Sydney midfield.
