Powell was gifted games his form didn't really warrant in 2018, but his enthusiasm is infectious. Goober is similar on both counts. Every year we're told players will have to earn their spots. Let's see what unfolds this year, but I love watching those guys that just seem so grateful to be part of my club.
Just out of curiosity why do you say Powell and Crossley didn't deserve the games they got?

Bang on mate - rather watch goober and Powell bust their guts out there than watch Lynch mope about or May sook. Passion and loyalty goes along way towards where this club needs to be

Forward line will probably end up looking like this:
Ainsworth - Wright - Corbett
Sexton - Day - Rankine
Will look good when you can rotate the likes of Martin through there as well.
Could comfortably insert Macpherson, Holman or Lemmens for a more defensive set up. Or swap in players like Martin, Powell, Schoenfeld and Lukosius for taller more athletic threats.
So much potential for our round 1 forward set up!

3hrswould be the most that journo has ever worked
Something against Fish?

I find him to be a pretty good journo.

He’s also an elite level runner and coach. I’d say he has a good idea about training in general.

Fish is a Swans supporter if memory serves me correct.

He’s on the Lions podcast and has never said a bad thing about the Suns.

In the second last podcast for the year, pretty sure Fish said he hopes to see the Suns up and about and on the improve.

100% he's a Lions supporter. He has said as much a couple of times.

But your other points are correct. Whiting is the friendliest of journos to us. Maybe Iva is getting him confused with someone else.

Whiting has commented a number of times the team is being worked so much harder this year.
Sort of insulating that it's too much is my feel.

Maybe it’s just the stank from Hamilton but rarely a column from Fish that doesn’t mention the “struggling Suns”

To be fair for 8 years we have been the "struggling Suns". I don't mind Whiting have found him reasonably balanced. I am hoping the new AFL.com QLD journalist could be a Sun's fan to finally give us one on our side.

Not doubt Whiting thinks that Lions are light years ahead of Suns as most Lions fans. To be honest it's quite amazing that Lions won only one more game than Suns, with best injury list (played like the same 18 players for 19 games), normal travel and received absolutely no criticism from journalists.

All thanks to good bloke Hodgey.

Plenty of doom and gloom in the media surrounding us in 2019. However I'm quietly optimistic and interested in the thoughts and predictions of other fans in a year with plenty of unknowns.

1. Number of wins - 4
2. Our captain - Witts
3. Biggest improvement - Ainsworth
4. Best and fairest - Miles
5. Leading goals & amount. - 2MP (38)
6. Surprise packet - Jezz McLennan
7. Left field prediction - Jack Martin All Australian on a wing.
8. Best win. - Essendon at Metricon

I feel like there is real upside to 2019. Sure lost some experience, but gained great players along with experience. I don't think it should be all doom and gloom, but of course the media won't see that until they see things changing.

I think they can win more than 4. I'll go for 6.

I think Touk will be captain. Maybe co-captain.
