Teams New England Patriots - The Pats

Gronk is surely retiring, he was close last year and has seriously regressed this year. He's a great blocker still and can still make big plays but the 9 million in cleared cap space would also be handy.

Gronk has been fantastic in the playoffs. He's always been a good blocker, but he's taken to a new level in recent weeks. He has a game like the AFC champ, and that will go a long way to helping the Pats win. That Rams Defensive front is chomping at the bit to get to Brady (and I think they will, it will simply be a case of how much) - an inform Gronk rubbing and blocking but still good enough to take the odd 1-on-1 catch is as important as any component out there.

As for retiring, the feeling about the industry seems to be that it's a high probability. I think so too, which is sad, one of my favs of course and an iinjury free Gronk was simply the best all around TE in the league.

Rob Gronkowski candidly spoke about the "grind" and "up and down" nature of the NFL season on Wednesday.

"Just try and imagine getting hit all the time and trying to be where you want to be every day in life. It's tough, it's difficult. ... Abusing your body isn't what your brain wants," Gronkowski said. "I just took 50 collisions, and then like the next day everyone wants you to be up. They want practice full speed, next week they want the game to be full speed, but they don't understand sometimes what players are going through with their bodies, with their minds." Gronk's honest comments about the difficulties of playing in the league are interesting both as an attempt to understand what NFL players go through week to week as well as a glimpse into the mind of a player who is reportedly mulling retirement. Gronk for SB MVP- when it has counted this year GRONK has looked like Gronk.

I’m fully expecting him to have a huge game - I reckon Brady will throw a strike to him in his first couple of throws.

Gilmore to take out Woods.

JC Jackson to take out Cooks look for the Pats to be exceedingly aggressive with Cooks

Fowler is my biggest worry- Donald and Sun will get plenty of attention but Fowler got to brees early and often two weeks ago. He was the reason for the INT.

Hopefully Scar & the O’ Line play like they have the last two weeks and nothing like SB42.

Patriots 38 Rams 31

Think Gronk will be largely used in the trenches early while we establish the run and then let loose late. Am most worried about Suh - think he will bring it all and also concerned about him doing something dog like taking out Brady behind play.

Good luck everyone - enjoy the ride, whatever happens

Fellow Patriots :nflpatriots: one and all.

Enjoy tomorrow and as formidable an opponent as the Rams are ( Oh and the D line worries me) , lets hope we deliver another Lombardi to Patriot Place.

We have been "Beyond Blessed" to have sustained so much success over the last two decades and while we all ; want it to last forever ; we all know that it wont and cant.

That said there would be a certain symmetry to the dynasty if we win tomorrow as it can then end as it started with a most unlikely win against the Rams whe were named "The Greatest Show on Turf "............... now I am a really greedy **** and I want one more from the BB & TB era.

Bring it on and enjoy the day.

Foot Note: My only serious worry is that the kiss of death :gun: , on all things Super Bowls  GG.exe :crystalball: is now on board the Patriot Train.:tonguewink:
Thats seriously scary :pileofpoop:.

Weird game, very happy we won but nowhere near the level of elation of 49, 51 or even the win over the Chiefs 2 weeks ago. Van Noy is an absolute beast, such a good game and along with Hightower would have been my pick for MVP, although cant fault Jules' efforts in the first half.

Not enough love for Belichick and Flores - the game-planning in the divisional, championship and SB games were masterpieces. We might be champs but this team wasn't very good, and the coaching staff deserve a boatload of credit for this title. SB36 and his role as DC with the Giants will always be BB's best work but this run comes damn close.

Van Noy, High and Gilmore were amazing on D. Our D-line as a collective were superb too. Felt the High dropped INT might've hurt us but overall he put in another clutch AF SB performance. Might be prisoner of the moment but Van Noy, with his playoff run, deserves to be in the conversation behind the legendary group of Pats' LBs - Willie, Mayo, Bruschi, High etc. He is a genuine Patriot.

O-line and Scar held up too - was really worried about Suh but he was basically a non-factor.

Love Jules as MVP but on reflection it would be hard to play a better game than Gilmore (and in such a low-scoring game). 1 FF, 1 INT and like 3-4 PBUs... probably unlucky.

Now to watch the TD-scoring drive on repeat all off-season (that f****** Brady pass + Gronk catch combo, for the last time)

The transformation of this side from basically also ran’s mid year with our road woes & inconsistencies, to getting back that eye of the tiger is truly remarkable.

Just can’t take for granted how lucky we are with the joy this team brings us.

Kyle Van Noy's game highly underappreciated, thought he was tremendous. Played really throughout all this year's playoff games actually. Not a bad pick up for a Detroit Lions bust. 😉

Also throw in Jason McCourty getting stuck on an 0-16 Browns team and winding up winning a SB with his brother

BB is amazing turning others people's trash into treasure, Shelton and Dorsett other first round busts also.
