Training 2019 Preseason

Really ?

All we have heard is how great Hanna has been with his leadership at training showing the boys how it is and setting the standards, doesn't matter if he doesn't even play a game.
So what does that say about our leadership that we had last year ? It says it was that bad the club took a gamble on a bloke that is past his best because our on field leadership was that bad and that last year when needed no one stood up.
So IMO Geary shouldn't be in charge of on field leadership had his chance and failed

But lets just see how things go and hope it all turns around
Dan has been awesome.

Unless something has changed, it's the players who decide.

Just because he doesn't have the title, doesn't mean he won't lead on the field.

Just because Roo was skipper, it didn't stop BJ, Lenny and a few others from being on field leaders.

I've got it all mapped out!
Max King will make his debut in Rd 17 as the saints begin to rest/manage some players being undefeated and all!
The Max factor then proceeds to kick 7 on debut so stays in, culminating in him kicking 8 in the premiership win in only his 8th game! :grinning:

Sounds perfectly reasonable and not too outlandish for managing expectations in his first year!
Can't see a way where this does not happen tbh! But being a young fella i think it's important to err on the conservative side so
decided to not get too carried away!

They have just been doing match sim and don't have an official intraclub. So I guess we should probably cancel our intraclub then because Collingwood aren't doing one.

It's like the movie Cool Runnings where the guy is obsessed with copying the Swiss because they are good.

How as bout we forge our own identity and spirit?

Learn from the best but adapt to what works best for us.

Word from a mate who works at the AFL is that Ben King is telling everyone he's out after two years. Not even being subtle about it.
As long as we are not putrid and manage to be moving forwards as a club (ie not 2 more years in bottom 4) then I can’t see how Ben doesn’t prioritise joining his brother at the saints. They look like a tight knit family and love the saints.

The flip side is saints need to uphold there end of the bargain. We don’t need to be a “destination” club perse but we need to be a club where a professional athlete is fairly remunerated, goes to work in a environment that provides best in class player development, positive upbeat workplace and some hope for sustained success in the medium term.

All of this is in our clubs control so here’s hoping we get it right.

He can also extract his own footy and break from the pack quite easily. It was on display from the few training sims ive watched.
Agree completely CR.
When I watched him (and Hunter) playing inside mid a couple of weeks ago it was just obvious that he is gifted with the ability to find space and time.
And a big unit to boot.
He is going to be a player capable of creating chaos.
Hunter on the other hand, has the more silky skills.
I haven’t been able to peg him down yet. I’m not too sure where he sits.
Though I would not be surprised if he proves to be our game breaker.

What you expecting from Billing this year? Surely he plays midfield, the half forward role was a write off for him last year.
